"It was a pleasant change to stay in a smaller hotel that had a family feel about it, as opposed to a large soul- less corporate hotel. The staff were friendly, pleasant and courteous. My room was very nicely decorated and filled out, and the en-suiute was spotlessly clean and looked as it it had been recently installed. I also had the benefit of a terrace that I could sit out in. The hotel was very convenient for walking in to Macinaggio that has numerous bars and restaurants to be enjoyed and there is a really safe swimming beach just north of marina. The area is a complete treat and comes highly recommended . Martin Cannon "

"Ideally situated if you want the best of both worlds. Peaceful hillside setting with beautiful views- A short seven minute drive down a bendy road to Erbalunga with it's restaurants and bars. Bear in mind that Erbalunga is a quiet seaside village/town- nightlife is restricted to restaurants. A fifteen minute drive up the coast will bring you to a marvelous, sandy beach with a low-key beach bar/restaurant. from the house, there is a great view of the isle of Elba."

"The hotel was excellent. The level of service was first class. The restaurant is a wonderful setting for dinner and the food was superb. A lovely pool area, comfortable quiet rooms. All in all a great offer."

"This is a very nice rental, but the location is relatively remote (high up in the valley, 7 km from beach and restaurants, further from groceries). We loved it. Hiking trails close by up the mountain and through the remains of a lost agro-pastoral farming culture. Everything now under dense Corsican maquis."

"The property is in a great location which unfortunately draws lots of tourists to the public area directly in front of the entrance. Curtains would have been nice. There is no outdoor private space. The worst aspect is that this is two rooms not connected internally, which should be made clear in the listing. The downstairs room (bedroom) is dark and smelly and the only way to get privacy at night is to close the shutters."
