The most beautiful natural beaches can be reached in 5-10 minutes by car. Enjoy your vacation in the small village of Barber, here you will find grocery stores (local prices) within walking distance where you can find everything you need for your stay on Curacao. A bank (MCB), 2 ATMs, a Dr. Med (Dr. Sommer), pharmacy, gas station, bakery, snack bars (Tokos), all within walking distance. Various good restaurants, with moderate prices, nearby.

We had an absolutely wonderful time Peter and Susan could not have been more hospitable. The apartment was clean and lovingly decorated. Our first night they welcomed us with pancakes and the most delicious coffee. Thank you so much for making our trip unforgettable.

This was perfect for us!
Our first trip to Curacao was delightful as we rented the car our hosts arranged for us (after picking us up at the airport!) and explored the many adventures available, receiving much guidance by our hosts. This included nearby beaches and snorkeling, hiking 2 nearby National parks, visiting downtown Willemstad and so much more. The property itself was very comfortable, with a beautiful verandah and outdoor courtyard ( where the nighttime view of the sky was breathtaking!) to enjoy the almost constant tropical breeze. Peter and Susi were always available for anything we needed (even doing our laundry!) yet gave us space to enjoy our time as we wanted.

Tropichill : half way between Willemstad and West punt
We had a big studio at TropicHill in Barber for an entire month, from December 15th to January 15th. Although it is not a modern flat, it has character, offers space and privacy. We cooked everyday and ate outside in the large and breezy porch where we can overlook the magnificent landscape of Barber and two beautiful 'windows’ through the mountains over the ocean. We also had access to another common back balcony extremely breezy and refreshing since the daily temperature in December was around 30-32 C. Peter and Suzanne were the perfect hosts and provided everything we need to enjoy our stay. They also arranged our car rental ! Yes, you need a car to explore the surroundings and the beautiful beaches around which are at about 10-15 minutes. There are a few stores to buy foods around but the real supermarket ( the Centrum) is about 20 minutes drive ! We would recommend to bring mosquitos repellent for inside and out to enjoy the stars in the sky. Thanks to Peter and Suzanne, our hosts as well as… Silvester and Hugo, the 2 admirable and attaching dogs which always come to say hello almost every day !

Ein toller Ort um Entspannen und "real" Curacao
Vielen Dank, liebe Susann und Pete, fuer eure Gastfreundschaft! Wir haben uns sehr wohl bei euch in Barber gefuehlt. Viel Entspannung bei schöner Aussicht und mit vielen Pflanzen
Wir haben uns bei Peter und Susann sehr wohl gefühlt. Die beiden sind sehr hilfsbereit und ihre beiden Hunde wirklich freundlich. Unser Apartment war nicht sehr groß, hatte aber alles was man benötigt. Man sollte allerdings über ein Auto verfügen, um einzukaufen und an die Strände zu gelangen.

It was the best travel experience ever because of the place and Peter / Susane hospitality.. my advice is to stay with those guys at Tropical Hills it's heaven , Peter picked us from the airport and they gave us a tour for 2 days till we got our car we really felt home and safe.

A magical experience
We spent a week at Tropic Hill and it was truly wonderful. Peter and Susann are friendly and helpful, even offered to pick us up at the airport! The accommodation was peaceful and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the island, and just 15 minutes away from some of the most stunning beaches we have ever seen (and we've seen many during our travels!) We really felt Tropic Hill offered incredibly good value for money. All in all - highly recommended. We would go back in heartbeat.

Wiederholungstäter
Wir waren jetzt 6 mal auf Curacao und davon 4 mal im Tropic-Hill. Das erstemal 2008, das letzte mal 2014. Drsten beiden male wussten wir nicht was die Insel zu noch alles zu bieten hat, ausser den "grossen" Hotels. Nach dem Kennenlernen von Peter und Susanne haben wir uns für das wohnen/leben "mit der Insel" entschieden und freuen uns jedesmal wenn wir wieder in Barber sind. Wir lagen Nachts auf der Sonnenterasse und haben in die Sterne gesehen und die beste, grösste Sternschnuppe meines Lebens gesehen (Grüsse dabei an Susanne 😉) . Wenn wir noch einmal eine Abkühlung zur Nacht brauchten, ab in den Pool. Herrlich😊 Abends haben wir uns was leckeres gekocht den Grill angefeuert oder haben uns was vom Chinesen aus der Nachbarschaft geholt. Meistens haben wir zusammen mit Susanne und Peter am Abend noch ein leckeres Kaltgetränk genossen. Das "Landleben" hat auch seine Reize, mit den Hähnen ins Bett gehen und mit den Hunden aufstehen 😀. Morgens die Sonne aufgehen sehen mit einem Becher Kaffee in der Hand, auf die beiden "Haus- und Hofhunde" warten die einen eine guten Morgen wünschen, ganz locker und leicht ein Frühstück zubereiten und dabei beratschlagen was man den Tag machen könnte. Zu den Stränden ist es nicht wirklich weit und auf der Fahrt dorthin oder zurück kann man gleich beim Toko ein paar Kleinigkeiten einkaufen. Wir waren teilweise nur ganz wenig Menschen in den kleinen Buchten. Manchmal auch ganz alleine😉. Einfach toll, kein Massentourismus. Am Wochenende und an Feiertagen sind natürlich auch vermehrt die Einheimischen am Strand. Es ist schön zu sehen das dort das Wort Familie auch noch einen anderen Stellenwert hat. Wir können nur jedem raten ein fahrbaren Untersatz zu heben, sprich einen Mietwagen. Dieser wurde von Peter organisiert, er stand sogar schon mal am Appartement als wir ankammen. Die Anmietung und Abgabe war immer gut, Grüsse an Sonny ☺. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder zum Tropic-Hill. Gute und einfache Unterkunft mit europäischen Standard. Ganz liebe Vermieter, mit denen man auch gerne mal was zusammen unternimmt, wen die Chemie stimmt 😉😀.

Erholsame Wochen im Tropic Hill
Wir waren im November/Dezember 2011 und im September 2013 auf Curaçao bei Susann u. Peter. Haben uns sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt im Tropic Hill. Hat alles gepasst. Haben ein Auto gemietet und haben mal einen ganz anderen Urlaub gehabt wie im Hotel. Es war toll, haben eine sehr schöne Zeit auf Curaçao gehabt und würden sofort wieder unseren Urlaub im Tropic Hill verbringen. Danke Susann u. Peter für die schöne Zeit bei euch.

Traumziel in der Karibik
Hatten super schöne und erholsame Wochen bei Susann & Peter .wir wurden von den beiden super lieb und familiär betreut.. Wir bekamen alle erdenklichen Trips und "Tricks " von den beiden. Freuen uns auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen!! Haben schon gebucht und können die Zeit kaum erwarten.... Zählen schon die Tage bis wir wieder bei Hugo, Silvester,Susann und Peter und an "unserem " Strand sind.
