Je suis désolé pour écrire en anglais. Mon français ne est pas très bon.
We are a retired couple who have rented Roxane's lovely top-floor apartment for extended periods over the last two years. It is just the two of us, but the apartment has 2 comfortable large beds (one downstairs in the master bedroom, and one in the upstairs loft area) that can easily sleep 4 adults. There is also a love-seat-sized pull-out sofa in the loft area that could easily sleep 2 small children, or 1 adult.
The apartment has large windows throughout and glass doors to the front balcony that provide natural cross-ventilation through all the rooms of the apartment. In addition, the apartment has a wonderful southeast exposure that bathes the apartment in an abundance of natural sunlight. The apartment looks-out over the public beach which is 15 strides from the front door. (We counted the strides!) Under the roadway arches, on the north-side of the beach, is a walkway where we would bring a lunch, dangle our legs above the sea, and catch some rays. Bon appetite!
We enjoy nature, geology, and hiking, ... and there were plenty of marked trails to beaches, historic sites, the Spanish border (we made it to the border on foot in about 2½ hours, ... then took the train back to Banyuls), and even across the country!
As retired educators, we also have related interests in art, history, geology, and World War II, ... and there were plenty of places to visit within a day's drive of the apartment. When we did not want to drive, the apartment was an easy 10-15 minute walk to the train station that connected us to other parts of France and Spain.
For us, the great views, southern exposure, and access to the beach combined with the amenities of a clothes washer, tumble dryer, dishwasher, WiFi, cable TV, large-sized water heater (no cold showers!), as well as central heating and air conditioning made this an ultimate place to stay along the most-southern Mediterranean coast of France.
We will be returning!
