Worst Rental Experience that I Have Ever Had
When we showed up at 11 pm to check in, we used the key code to walk in only to have a man yelling at us from a bedroom within the home. He was telling us that we needed to leave. We did and called Vacasa (the rental company immediately). That home was apparently having some work done to it, the worker was staying there overnight, and Vacasa had forgotten to take the home offline. The agent I spoke with assured me and my group of 16 people that they had hundreds of properties in the area and that they would find a new one for us. He even said that if the new property cost more, they would cover that for the inconvenience. Well, when the second agent called back, she said they only had one property available for us, and it was a definite downgrade (and less expensive) from the one we had already paid for. It was 11:30 pm at night and we had no other options, so we took it. When I called a few days later to ask about getting a partial refund since we had already paid for the more expensive home that, through no fault of ours, we were not able to get into, the agent said that the local manager would be contacting us within a day or two to respond to our request. The local manager never called. When I called them a week later, I was told that they were not going to give us a partial refund. So we ended up paying for a more expensive home with better amenities than the one they ended up giving to us. I WILL NEVER RENT WITH VACASA AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.
