This spacious, ski chalet-inspired home is just minutes from Beech Mountain Resort, the trails of Emerald Outback, local wineries and breweries, and downtown Banner Elk. Welcome to the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains!

Inside, you'll find a soaring, vaulted ceiling and open living spaces illuminated by large windows that provide abundant natural light. Prepare everyone's favorite recipes in the well-equipped kitchen, and then gather together at the nearby table for six. After dinner, get a fire going in the fireplace and settle into the great room for movie night on the smart TV, or head up to the loft to play foosball.

Outdoors, the generous, furnished deck offers a gas grill and a table and chairs for alfresco dining, while down in the yard, you'll find a firepit for roasting s'mores and telling stories at the end of each day.

Incredible Winter Views, Close to Beech opes
Great stay for two nights. Wood-burning fireplace was great since there was 5 inches of snow on the ground. Only issue was the door lock; code would not open. Had to call and get help. But what a fantastic house!

Mountain Chalet Getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the Salty Switchback Chalet. We saw deer and turkeys from the deck. Wish we could have enjoyed the porch more but it was raining. Location was great!

Great potential
The place was cute and quaint but there were a good amount of issues that stood out to us. Property did not seem cleaned when we arrived—toilets, bathtub, and floors were still dirty. Dishes and silverware had dried food. Was also surprised that the driveway, stairs and walkway were not shoveled upon arrival when over a foot of snow had accumulated. The rental did not have a shovel and it took over a day to get the snow cleared away.

Everything was wonderful. The home was very clean and spacious. The upstairs loft was a perfect hideaway for children and adults alike. We enjoyed our stay very much and would book the property in a heartbeat.

Great location, tight fit for pack in play in bedrooms
Cute little home nicely updated with a brand new spacious deck. Very clean and well supplied. Really great location, close to park, resort and dining. Only two small inconveniences…both bedrooms are a tight fit for a pack n play if you have a little one. We locked one bathroom door in the bedroom off the kitchen and put it between the bathroom door and the bed. There was room in the loft area but I didn’t want to carry my toddler up and down the steep steps. The other problem was the original fireplace. It’s really cool looking but it was full of wood ash and made the whole home smell like the inside of a fire place. It wasn’t over whelming but the smell was just always there in the background. Overall, we liked the house and would stay again.
