Quintessential Log Cabin in the Woods

This cozy three-bedroom log cabin features a northern view of Beech Mountain. Only 3 steps get you into this all-one-level home. A very spacious living area, decorated to make you feel like you are back in time. This unit offers a large kitchen furnished with everything you will need, a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer, and Wi-Fi for your convenience. The back deck area is perfect for enjoying the sounds of nature and viewing our magnificent mountains. No Smoking. Absolutely NO Pets from December through March. Pet-friendly may be available seasonally. There are pet size/breed and number restrictions please confirm with us before booking. Please acknowledge that there is a $100 pet fee(per pet). No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests are required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

Family Ski Break
Perfect location. 100 yards from the Village Shuttle stop, 1 mile from the closest ski lift at the lodge. Away from the hustle and bustle. Well stocked kitchen for family meals.

Cute cabin
The property was decorated very nicely and had cooking supplies which was very helpful. The negative though is that if you open up the fire place and try to use it makes the whole house smell horrible for over a day and there was also a mouse living with us during the stay.

Ski weekend, taxidermy ferrets on the wall
Perfect for what we needed. Weekend stay for skiing. The house is a great price and this reflects the age on the unit and it’s decor. Warning there are taxidermy animals on the walls (mink/ferrets). Since we have 4 pet ferrets we found it slightly alarming but we’re able to move past it. On whole good value and close to the ski resort.

All we needed
The place was all we needed for our first ski trip to Sugar Mountain. The house had all we needed, everything was working. A quick drive down hill to the resort. Use 4x4 if the conditions will be icy/snowy. Great view from the balcony, looking at the mountains.

Met our needs for ski weekend
Cabin is a short drive to the slopes, but that means you have to deal with parking at Sugar so get there early! We got 7” snow the night we arrived but the roads were cleared multiple times so that we could safely drive. Cabin is very well stocked with every pot, pan, utensil you will ever need. We had a great time. I highly recommend purchasing a lock box or key pad entry so that guests don’t have to pick up and drop off keys. This is especially true if guests plan to ski the day of checkout because you have to drive to the rental place to drop keys then back to the resort to ski. Overall good experience renting this cabin.

It was okay
The cabin was cute but it was very difficult to get the heat on, we had to call the property manager to help us get it cut on which could have been avoided if they left some instructions about the old quirky heating. The beds were really uncomfortable but it wasn’t a terrible stay. Just could have been better.

Great little cabin!
Very well equipped and clean. Wonderful stay, only one note is if you're staying in summer, there is no ac which isn't noted in the listing, but with being in the mountains it stays pretty cool. Overall it was wonderful and I would stay again.

Charming but issues
This place is super charming. It was a nice place to stay but several things even the reviews didn’t mention that everyone should know. Now some of this is the rental co and some the owners responsibility. Home - the home is rustic and charming. However I’m not sure when the floors were last cleaned or place dusted. It was very well stocked with things like cooking supplies. I will suggest having furniture moved. It was in the way. I have bruises from hitting the bed in the master trying to get around it and my daughter hurt hers too. The master bed was not sleepable. It was hard as a rock like laying on bricks so we slept in the other bed. Luckily there wasn’t anyone else there who needed a bed other than our kids who used the bunk beds. The owners should invest in new pillows, pillow covers, mattress pads and comforters as they were old, stained and dirty. I know the rental company cleans and changes the sheets but owners imo should tend to this. Also better directions for the older heating settings would also be nice it was hard to figure out. We came in late in the evening and in winter the roads were messy and it was very dark. The overcast wind and snow made it very difficult to see. Not the owners fault but it was pitch black with no light on at the house nothing but snow covering mailbox and we could not see the numbers. Luckily friends rented across street so we parked there and had to call emergency line to find where house was. We walked up the hill and had to use our cell flashlight to see the house. So having a bigger address sign on the road and maybe a light or reflectors to denote driveway. Also the driveway was covered in a foot of snow not plowed. We left car at our friends carried our kids and things back and forth. They had shovels for next day and my husband was able to help clear the drive some & while he was a plow drove by & offered to plow the drive for us. Rental Co-Leave a light on to show home for next renters who may come at night. Pillow cases had hair & eyelashes on them so we had to request new sheets. The floors were dirty. Cups were left out & an old toothbrush left in shower. Plow drive if it snows or make that something we can buy before arrival. Also the drop off leaving the keys was awful. I had to drop my husband off at road to walk over to dropbox bc the lot was covered in snow/ice, then drive turnaround & go pick him up since it was a main road. Very inconvenient and dangerous.

Not as advertised
While the location was perfect, the cabin was not. The home is littered with extra furniture and decorations not shown in the photos. This may not seem like a big deal, but it made movement around the house cumbersome. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, but I had to was everything before I was able to use it, because it was either food covered or sticky from grease. The carpeting was so old and stained that none of us wanted to walk on it without shoes. The bunkbeds collapsed in the middle of the night on the last night. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but our call and message about the event was never returned. When we tried to put our trash in the bin specified on the instructions sheet, we were told by another person at the bin we were not allowed to put our trash there, Therefore, we left a bag of trash in the cabin. We intended to use the grill, but it was so filthy, we couldn't use it. It should also be disclosed to potential guests, that they are only allowed two parking passes.
