Overall very good, modest little hotel. The pool washroom however was not well kept, missing soap and toilet paper, and due to the location of the pool in between tall buildings, it didn’t receive much sunshine. Also the pool lounger beds were quite dirty. Aside from this, we really enjoyed our stay. I appreciated the hotels humble little features and gestures to help maintain environmental sustainability, such as the kind signs about water usage and bed linen etc. I wouldn’t recommend for people hoping to spend a lot of time lounging in the sunshine but in general for a relaxing holiday right in a convenient, well-connected location, it’s perfect.

The staff was excellent! I unfortunately got a room that hasnt been updated in quite some time, it was rather drab and a little dirty in some areas. Most nights its smelled heavily of cigarettes. Iwould stay there again if i was guarenteed one of the renovated rooms though.

Great hotel for budget traveller
If you are on a budget this excellent old hotel is perfece. Big bedrooms ensuite with view of the pool. 24 hour restaurant. Very good massage facility. Now, its needs renewal but is very very acceptable nevertheless.

Our regular hotel when we're in Bangkok, feels like home after so many visits there, nice pool, restaurant staff are really nice and friendly, apart from 1 lady in restaurant who was racist again my partner and friend. Rooms are fairly basic, but adequate, beds are hard 😏

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 25 years. It always delivers. Yes the environment is dated, but meticulously clean. Rooms are large and comfortable. Food in the Mali restaurant always good. Staff helpful and polite. Located near Lumpini MRT, so access to SIlom area 10 minutes away. A number of other dinning options a stone throw away. I have never been disapointed and think it is good value for money. Will always be my first choice when in Bangok. Remember it not the Hilton and you will not be disappointed

We stay at this hotel every time we come to Bangkok, as its very reasonable, we know the staff now, they have a pool and its quite central for getting around. They really need to invest in the place though, the sun loungers need replacing, it needs a new coat of paint and the main thing we find is the beds are very HARD!! You need to get new mattresses as we were in pain every day when we got up!! We're considering finding a new hotel :(

Oldie but goodie, mostly
Well-kept older property -- to judge from the browns, oranges, and yellows I'm guessing the 1970s -- and the price is right. Scrupulously clean, beds/pillows firm but comfortable. The wall murals in the stairwell are alone worth the price of admission! Minor flaws, however. There's no bathtub although this site advertises one. Hot water apparently doesn't reach the sixth and highest floor (where I was), although in Bangkok one hardly misses it much, and one can always boil water for shaving. Also note that half of the floors are smoking, so occasionally you'll get a whiff. But overall I'm happy I stayed there.

Room for improvement
Check in was from 14.00, we arrived 16.00, but the room wasn't cleaned and ready for us. We had to wait for half an hour for them to fix the room. Next morning we went in to the restaurant for a breakfast. I ordered the american breakfast. Out came a plate with an omelet, 2 small cold sausages, 2 slices of tomato, white bread, even I ordered dark bread. When I complained about the cold sauseges, she took the plate, put it in a microwave, and served it to me again. The sausages was hot, but so was the tomato slices, and as the omelet had been warmed again, it was very dry. One night was enough, and better go to some local restaurant for a proper breakfast, or teach the staff what an american breakfast is.

Old, but authentic, cheap and functional
The hotel is located in the centre of the diplomatic district, south of Sathorn. If you are a little "local' the area is amazing, but if you are used to living with BTS, busses, MRT etc just outside the hotel, this will feel like out of the way, with several hundred metres to such options. The hotel is old, from the vietnam war era, it seems. Very authentic, but also a lot of things that are still from that time in the 50s and 60s, which can seem dated or insufficient today. We order3d the premium in the hopes this would be the best the hotel had to offer, and while pretty, and spacious, the bed was noisy, and the bathroom was not meant for people my size, so we had to change hotels. The hotel did offer to exchange rooms, but we preferred a new hotel. The pool is good though, palm trees around, decent bar, and a noodle place integrated in the hotel too. With a little upgrade to the rooms, this could easily become an amazing stay, especially given the ultra low price for this area.
