Beautiful Secluded Home on Farm Acreage Close to Lava Hot Springs

This small farmhouse is set on peaceful, secluded acreage near the base of Fishcreek pass and just 8 miles East of Lava Hot Springs. The property borders our family farm which in any given summer could have wheat, barley, potatoes, or alfalfa growing in the back yard. Watch the sunrise from the East over fields gleaned every fall, and the summer sunsets over Petticoat Peak with vivid pinks, reds, purples, and yellows.

Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATV's and dirtbiking are favorite pastimes for locals up nearby canyons. Close by in Lava Hot Springs, are the world-famous Olympic sized pools and natural hot baths. Rent a tube and enjoy floating down the Portneuf River or enjoy the shops on Main Street. Or we suggest at some point to just stay home, pull out the camp chairs, and enjoy an evening with a glowing campfire.

The home has been newly updated and filled with all the basics you will need for your stay. It has two bedrooms-- a King size bed in one, and a full over full bunk with a twin trundle pull out in the second.

While newly updated, its still an old home with its quirks and its filled with memories. We hope that your memories here will mirror the feelings we have of this little valley. We have farmed this area for 5 generations, love for this land runs in our blood. There is a stillness here, untouched by the crowds and city life.

We warmly welcome you to our home and hope you will love your stay at the Mountain View Country Escape!

***please note:

1. This is a home in the country. We have gophers in the yard and bugs that occasionally pester us. We keep the inside of the home as clean as possible. If you want a five-star hotel, please book elsewhere. We prefer house guests who will call us if there is an issue…. like a good neighbor, rather than a rant 4 days later on a public forum. We rent this home at an affordable price—and you get a home for the price of small, single hotel room. Please have realistic expectations for a home in the country. We are not professionals, we are farmers. Our kids help us clean and we are trying to give them opportunities to earn money—99% of the time there are not issues. We just want to be real.

2. This is not a party house. If the intention is to drink and get loud in the country—this is not the home for you. Our intention is to provide a peaceful landscape for anyone wanting to get out of the city for quiet respite. After cleaning up spilled alcohol and vomit with a couple guests as well as the police called, if we run into the same issues please know you will forfeit the security deposit.

My wife and 5 grown children had a great time in this home that was very close to Lava Hot Springs. Everything was as advertised. It was clean and sleeping worked out great. We would stay here again.

Very relaxing stay
This location is definitely secluded, very beautiful location and away from the hustle and bustle in life. Had all the amenities. We were small drives away from everything, so it wasn’t that bad to travel. The closer towns were cute, definitely go to the hot springs. The owners were very responsive and super polite Definitely enjoyed our stay

Great place!
Had great communication with Carrie. We came during some bad weather and she was very helpful. The place was great for our family of five. Plenty of places to sleep and everything adequately stocked. The bathroom sink was pretty tall for our five year olds to reach so a step stool would be nice.

Pleasant stay with family
My parents were visiting from Mexico and we needed a place to stay for the night. Every hotel in Lava Hot Springs required a 2 night stay so this farmhouse was the perfect choice for us. It is a very cute farmhouse and the beds and couch were very comfy. It also had all the necessities. We couldn’t figure out how to make the tv work and the host was kind enough to swing by and get it working for us. 100% recommend!

We were excited to stay here for a family getaway! It had the space that we needed & were excited to be away! The property was everything we hoped it would be; however, it does have a spider problem. Everyday we were there, we found them in the sinks, the master bedroom, and tub.

The house was in the middle of farm country. Very quiet. It was nice to come back to a quiet place after being in Lava Hot Springs all day. Thank goodness it has Air Conditioning.

Adorable, Cozy Old Farmhouse
Our family LOVED this cute little farmhouse!! It was so perfectly secluded! We enjoyed the fire pit outside to wind down after driving and soaking in the Lava Hot Springs! The kids/teens enjoyed the available games. Beds were comfy, and linens nice. It was nice having towels, linens, shampoo/conditioner, laundry facilities, etc. It was a perfect little home with gorgeous views! Highly recommend!!

This place was awesome! Beautiful house located on a farm in the middle of farm country. We had so much fun. Cooked a nice meal in the kitchen and on the gas grill. Enjoyed eating outdoors on the deck and finishing it off with a campfire and smores. Highly recommend staying here. And be sure to look outside at night, amazing stars! Than you so much.

Nice overnight trip
We stayed to visit the Lava Hot Springs. It was very well kept and in good shape. The only small things is there was no extra toilet paper and the remote for the TV wouldn't turn it on. I had to use the Roku app on my phone to turn it on. No big deal. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Peaceful retreat
This property was just what I was looking for - out of the way, secluded, but not too far from the main attractions. It was clean, comfortable for our small group. We should have spent more time on the porch in the mornings. With all the rain, everything was super green and the view was peaceful and beautiful. If you're looking for a place to just detox from the city - this is it. Also - visit the Chesterfield ghost town which is a short drive from the property - really cool. Thx!

It was really nice for a quick getaway where we had our own space and could do stuff around the area. There were a few light fixtures that didn't work, most prominently noticed was the driveway porch light. Really nice area though. Not the best for exploring in the winter because the snow kept us from really doing anything on the property. Would try again when it's warmer!

It was not very clean and there was only three chair for the kitchen table when this is suppose to sleep 7. There was bird poop on the door step and we couldn’t even go on the front porch it was all run down with peeling paint and slivers. The dish washer place to put soap was broke and washing machine spelt like mildew. The beds were comfortable.

The place smells awful and when the heat came on the smell was unbearable. There are no screens in the windows and we had to deal with bugs coming in while we tried to get fresh air. One window was broken and taped with electrical tape. We were asked to wash towels and the dryer sounds like it’s on its last leg. My husband stepped on a red ant hill when unloading bags from our vehicle. The yard is infested with vermin, possibly voles or mice judging by the holes in the yard and from the smell in the house. I did not read reviews before booking. I will not make that mistake again.
