I never used my reservation, simply because there was someone else occupying the room when I arrived. My reservation was confirmed and paid, and the room was rented to someone else. I emailed and texted the owner all week and got no response. I told them I would check in later. Arriving quite late, I climbed several floors of stairs because the elevator was broken, and when I arrived at the bedroom door, the TV was on and the door password didn't work. I knocked, no one answered. I called the owner and he didn't answer. I had to call Expedia/VRBO to try some mediation. VRBO was unable to contact the owner and was also unable to make a reservation for me, as it needed to be in the same location (downtown Baltimore). They offered me a voucher for $414.65 per night, but only at the reservation location. It turns out that the Downtown area was full because of the event I was going to participate in and there was no way to use the voucher. It was after midnight, after hours on the phone with Expedia/VRBO, and I had to leave the city to look for a place to sleep. I just found a motel next to the airport, which they didn't pay for because it wasn't in the reservation location. It was the worst experience I've ever had in my life with these booking apps, both in terms of solving problems and dealing with customers, without providing the slightest support. Now I still have to appeal for the refund of my paid daily allowances. This policy only benefits scam owners.
