"Really nice room with comfortable beds. We ended up with a double and 2 single beds. Clifden is a really pretty town with tons of restaurants and nice High streets with lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from and nice shops. I drove out to the Clifden castle and hiked in (note, the entry point is near the wall that looks like a castle) about 2km(?). We stopped by the beach for a look. Fairly touristy hotel with live music on the lobby and several busloads of tour groups also staying....

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. We were warmly greeted at reception by the owner, who provided us with champagne in the evening along with fascinating insights into the castle's history. Our dinner experience was delightful, complemented by engaging entertainment, and the breakfast was truly exceptional. We also appreciated the atmosphere of the piano bar following dinner. Our accommodations were outstanding and beautifully suited to the castle's...

Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel
4.0 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (99)
"My mom and our two dogs stayed at Lough Inagh Lodge for two nights and had a beautiful time. It’s an extremely well-run and comfortable lodge. Great location. One morning we walked down to the lough in the early light to take in the view and that was glorious. The restaurant and bar offered great food options so we didn’t have to be on the roads at night. And the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Mobile coverage is quite spotty but that was perfect for us (and their wifi worked great)....

Eco-friendly house beside the sea in the wildness and solitude of Connemara
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (163)
"After our pervious week in 2022, we were delighted to return to Eileen's rental house. We were warmly welcomed, and then left to settle in. We appreciated Eileen contacting her "fish man" who came by and we purchased fresh scallops, hake and a fish new to us. We enjoyed the remoteness and the comfort of the house, settling in the big chairs to read and watch the changing views of the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return."

OCEAN VIEW, pet friendly, with open fire in Louisburgh, County Mayo
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (2)
"What a great stay! My daughters said it was the best place we stayed on our whole trip, and wish we stayed longer. We loved the remote location and beautiful setting. It is just a short walk past fields of grazing sheep and cows to Carrowinsky Strand, which is a stunning beach. The owner provided a packet with helpful information in nearby Louisburgh. The easiest way to find the property is to follow directions to Carrowinsky Strand and the house is on the left side about 800m from the beach. If...
