I was a little dissapointed that the pub and coffee shop they display on their website were closed for the off-season. Yet there are plenty of alternatives within walking distance. I loved the history of the hotel and the pride with which this is displayed. I would definitely stay again. "

"The Hotel was great, the staff were great. Overall a great experience. My whole family stayed here with me. We had booked in advance, and it happened to be when there was a very serious storm in Ireland, so we were without power at home, and the hotel had no power, but their generator was working, so they still accepted us, which was great. "Staff Reception and Management were all fantastic! Our stay was at a time just after the major storm but nothing was too much. I had flown in from Portugal but the stories I heard from local people who the hotel had looked after during this awful time was amazing. Well done The Ellison. I had an amazing stay with my husband and will be booking again soon! Message to Chef! Your Angus Steak was Incredible and Cooked to Perfection ! Wow "

"I have found that dinner in the bar is sometimes amazing and sometimes not, it's a bit hit and miss unfortunately. It was not obvious when I booked the room via Expedia but the bed was a smallish double, thankfully the hotel kindly upgraded us to a larger bed. I wish Expedia would make the size of bed more clear when booking. "
