Nestled in Lennox Head village, on Bundjalung country. Dragon Tree House is a couple of blocks from the beach, is my little piece of paradise. DTH is close to everything (beaches, lake, walks, restaurants, cafes, bars, shops) you’ll want and more, and the perfect retreat to come home to.
The house is open plan, with a large inside living/ dining space that extends via glass sliding doors on to a huge covered deck surrounded by tropical gardens with a pool, doubling the living space.
Chill on the day beds, or in the cabana, while the kids are playing in the pool. Keep your eye out for the shy water dragons, they love a swim in the pool when no-one is watching.
The village has great food, restaurants, shopping and eating options with heaps of local produce available at stores and the local farmers markets.
The beaches are beautiful, with some of the best surfing on the coast. Say hi to the local Pelicans or the pair of Bramhiny Kites nesting in the norfolk pine at the entrance to Lake Ainsworth.
There are lots of walks north and south, 15 minutes south brings you to Pat Morton's lookout on Lennox headland where an amazing outlook across the ocean and village invites you to watch the the hang gliders or get into the action and do a jump yourself, so much fun! Its a great lookout for whales and the surf. If you continue walking over the headland you’ll end up at the beautiful Boulders Beach, its covered in volcanic rocks. You can continue to walk or pushbike along the coast walk tracks to Ballina.
A 10 minute walk to the north of DTH is tranquil Lake Ainsworth, the tea tree lake, great for swimming, SUPing. Hire a Kayak or wallow in the therapeutic Tea Tree waters around a lakeside picnic or the Surfclub Cafe. The walk to the end of Seven Mike Beach is beautiful and fun to pushbike on low tide. 15 minutes to the west are the famous Historic villages of Newrybar and Bangalow. Just 20 minutes north is Byron Bay if you need a hectic fix.
