Incredible Views Villa

This Luxury Home is located on 3 private acres overlooking the Whale's Tail, with incredible views all around. At 2000 ft above sea level you feel on top of the world, often in the clouds, and yet only 15-20 minutes away from some of the best beaches on the Costa Ballena. With the added security of being within a gated community this is one of the most sought after locations on the Costa Rica Pacific coast.

There are 2 master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and both have stunning views of the Whale's Tail right from your bed!
The 3rd bedroom is at the rear with no ocean view and with a sofa-bed.

The open-concept home has a comfortable and inviting living room, and a well equipped kitchen. A long breakfast bar comfortably seats five, while the large dining area has a table for eight. In addition there is a large outdoor seating area and sunken bar at the pool which is probably where you will spend most of your time!

Enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains while you relax in or around the pool. This is where memories are made.

Only the 2 master bedrooms have air conditioning units but there are ceiling fans throughout the home. At this altitude, the temperature is a few degrees lower than sea level and being on the ridge of the mountain, there is usually a gentle breeze. Most people living at this altitude don't even turn on their air conditioning.

The house itself is surrounded by 3 acres of private garden and cloud forest, but you will have access to the facilities of the gated community which include a tennis court, a gym, a helipad, all surrounded by 800 acres of conservation land.

Please note that 4x4 is essential to get to the house.

Also please note that on Mondays there is a garden maintenance team which comes from 7.30am to 4pm. There is also a pool maintenance company which comes for about 30 minutes every Monday usually in the morning. These weekly services are necessary to keep the grounds and pool in good condition. If you feel the gardeners are intruding too much you could politely ask them to work in another part of the large garden.

Up in the clouds
Overall, our experience with this VRBO was great. Richard provided outstanding information (print and responses to questions) prior to our stay. We really appreciated the level of detail about things to do nearby. The house, view, and garden were topnotch. Listen out for the toucan pairs! The restaurant, market, and coffee shop that were about 1/3 the way up the mountain were excellent and a huge bonus.A few issues did come up. First, the 15 minute ride up the mountain was much more uncomfortable than other reviews stated (or didn't state). Perhaps others just stayed at the house but we went up and down at least once a day which was stressful for several members of our party. There were also a couple of mechanical issues that we wish we had been made aware of ahead of time. The indoor fridge was intermittently turning off to the point of needing to move our food to the outside fridge. Additionally, the pool heater wasn't working and with consistently cloudy weather it didn't heat up enough for several of our cold-sensitive family members to enjoy it. Both the fridge and pool heater issues were known to the property manager and parts were on order for both. If we had known there were issues, it would have saved us from frustration or thinking that somehow we had broken something.

Amazing stay!
Richard’s house is amazing, very spacious and well decorated. The view is just spectacular, the landscaping is beautiful. We felt very safe and comfortable. Definitely recommend others staying here and we cannot wait to be back. The house is equipped with everything you need to cook.

Best vacation ever!
First timers!! We enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures of the house does not do the justice. It’s so well maintained inside and out. I enjoyed walking around the house and discovering all kinds of plants. House was spotless!!! Pool is perfect, my 3 kids enjoyed it very much. To get to the house it is a hike, definitely 4x4 is needed, but I loved the ride. It’s approximately 15 min up the hill through the jungle :))) we loved it. We felt very safe. Stores are near by, plenty restaurants etc. every day we got to do a new activity. Explored so many beautiful water falls that are like 8 min from Uvita(closest town). I’m so glad we got to experience 1 day of rain here at the house!!! It was amazing. A true cloud forest, I have never experienced magic like that. We were in a cloud. We did see lizards and many different kinds of birds. We didn’t see any monkeys at the house but definitely heard them near by. Thank you Richard and John for your hospitality! Our first visit to Costa Rica was a dream!

Stunning Home in Costa Rica
My boyfriend and his two teenage sons stayed here for eleven days and we loved every single moment. I have friends who live in Uvita and they confirmed we were staying in a home which boasted the best views on that coast of Costa Rica. The photos of the house do not do it justice. It's absolutely gorgeous and we felt right at home- enough space for all of us. I love how you can let the outside in-- it's Pura Vida all the way. We saw Toucans, exotic birds and monkeys almost every day right there by the pool. The teenage boys were blown away and spent hours in the pool and said it felt "free" up here. The landscaping is also beautiful and I have plant envy with all the colorful flowers and greenery. The owner, Richard , could not have been nicer and gave us many tips on where to grocery shop, what beaches were good for surfing vs swimming and things to do. Everything was seamless. We had the best vacation. Every photo was Instagram worthy. There are no bad angles up here and the house is well stocked with cookware and spices. We loved the large kitchen and watched family movies on the huge sofa every night. Book this house. You will not regret it! And thank you Richard for letting us rent your beautiful home. It was the best vacation ever.

Gorgeous Home with incredible views!!
The property was absolutely incredible. We came with out younger kids and they had such a great time and loved the pool! We drove in during the night, which made it challenging to find the house. Was not prepared for the steep hills required to get to the property. Much of the drive is unpaved and nearly vertical.. definitely requires a 4x4 so be ready for that! Property management was very responsive and helped us navigate. Love the near by restaurant- Jolly Roger!

Amazing house with gorgeous viee
This house is amazing. I’ve stayed in a fair number of rental houses in Costa Rica but this one was the best. It’s a bit of a drive to get there and you need a 4x4 but the view is worth it! Looks onto the whale tail of Uvita beach from your private infinity pool. House is well equipped with everything - boogie boards, beach chairs and even pool inflatables. Highly recommend. I hope to be back. Thanks for having us. My children didn’t want to leave the house ever to do anything else.

Beautiful property, exceptional view
My family had a wonderful time. The house is amazing. Richard and John were very responsive and helpful. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and I was unprepared for the roads (gravel and very steep), and our flight was delayed which had us arrive after dark and in the rain. Once we got through that (which was no fault of the property!) we were fine. The house has plenty of cookwear, basic seasonings, etc. nicely located between Dominical and Uvita.

Couldn’t have asked for nicer accommodations. The location was perfect for our adventures. A quick 15 min to the highway. Being up higher was really nice because of the cooler temperatures. Safe and secure with the gate being manned 24 hrs. Had some guests over for lunch and dinner and they were all very jealous of our spot. Thank you Richard!!! ✌️

Spectacular setting and home!
Spectacular setting and home! This was our second booking here. . Perfectly set up for two couples in that there are two master bedroom suites both with views of the pool and ocean. Amazing setting beautiful landscaping. Host Richard and Property Manager were both very attentive and responsive to any questions. Truly special!

Amazing house overlooking Ballena
One of the nicest properties we've ever stayed in. The home is so well designed and is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. I had an almost constant compulsion to be taking pictures because everything is just out of this world beautiful. The kitchen is perfectly appointed with everything you could need, the patio and pool area is stunning - stacking glass doors blur the lines of indoor and outdoor when you want that blur, and allows you to close it off in the evening. John the property manager and Richard the owner were always reachable via whatsapp for any questions that came up. The temps at the house are cooler and the constant breeze make for very comfortable temps. Even though the bedrooms have AC, we never used it once, we were totally comfortable with the screen doors. I can't say enough about this property. If there is anything to gripe about it might be the journey up the road to get there - it's a steep and intense drive, but is so worth it to have the total privacy and constant jaw dropping views.

Perfect stay
There aren't enough good things to say about this house. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The outside area is unparalleled. Suggest doing some dinners in as you won't want to leave. A good 4x4 is an absolute MUST, the drive is long but absolutely worth it. I would stay here over and over and plan to bring more family back to this house.

Absolute peace and serenity!! Pictures as shown!!!
Where to begin! This was such a glorious stay and an absolutely glorious home. EVERYTHING was well appointed....EVERYTHING! From the kitchen appliances, to the beautiful bathrooms, to the comfortable bedrooms and beds...to the office (we did have to do a little work while here). The WIFI was great! My wife and I never had to compete for wifi even when on video calls and streaming simultaneously. Everything on the grounds was well appointed and just beautiful! Lush, tropical botany always made various Costa Rican animals feel comfortable to venture on the property...the howler monkeys were soooooo close (I felt like we could touch them). We saw coatimundis, katydids, numerous bird species, and the like. Oh...did I say that the kitchen had every appliance you could want!?!? And from what I am hearing, Costa Verde has the only tennis court in the area. We love playing tennis and therefore had tennis racquets shipped from the US to CR just so that we could play tennis. The property manager was very attentive and kind and offered us support whenever we needed it (which was rare). Without a doubt, we would stay here again!!!!
