A two level mountain cabin with two levels of wrap around deck to view nature. Sit in the trees and watch the hummingbirds feed, the family of deer stroll by and perhaps a bear sighting. With approximately 90 miles from DC, you can get access to a tranquil setting a world away in the Wonderful Wild West Virginia.

Two hours away from the hustle and bustle of Washington DC with a spacious premium cabin that you can telework or explore what the region has to offer. With its proximity to Wardensville, Cacapon and Lost rivers, George Washington National Forest and Lost River State Park, it lends itself to all outdoor activities including hiking, climbing, kayaking and nature watching. The property has 10 acres that you can do your own hike in the backyard but be careful-there are bears!

With three bedrooms all with their own full en suite, come with your family with continued privacy or a few couples eager to get away. There is an office that can also be converted into a baby room as well as ample room for air mattresses. Get wild and sleep in the screen house for total forest bathing.

We enjoyed over time away with family at this cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and plenty of room for 3 couples and a baby. The views were beautiful and the beds were very comfy. Everything was clean and nicely decorated.

Perfect quiet down time
We needed a couple of days of quiet relaxation, close to home (about a 3 hour drive) and this was PERFECT. We went into town and checked out a couple shops on our last day, but otherwise, just enjoyed each other's company and the beautiful mountains around us. The property is super comfortable and lacked nothing...thank you!

Lost River Get-a-way
Three of us, all in our late 50's and friends since high school, spent a long weekend at the cabin and we all loved it. We took advantage of the hot tub after enjoying some hiking in the Lost River State Park. Everything was great and all three of us agree agree that we wouldn't hesitate to return again. We enjoyed our stay. The indoor and outdoor spaces were comfortable. We did not see any bears but loved hearing the cows mooing in the distance and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders! The screened porch was perfect for puzzle building and fierce games of Battleship!!

Great family time
This cabin was perfect for our family trip. It's pretty big, so everyone had their own space and privacy. The living room with fireplace was a great place to gather together and have a meal. Everything is very clean. The kitchen has anything you might need for cooking/grilling/baking. the kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The host was really fast to get back to me. Overall, we had a great stay and would return again.

A quiet and peaceful retreat
We had a fabulous stay at this secluded home in the woods near Baker, West Virginia. The house is comfortable and well-decorated (some fun art!). Our time there coincided with a cold and snowy week - so we enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace, brand new hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and the matching sleek recliners with a view out over the mountain vista. Great hikes at Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls.

Relaxing and Remote
This is a great place if you want to get away. The house is comfortable and clean. Kitchen, living space, beds and bath all good. The front porch overlooking the mountain is where we spent most of our time. The house is spacious. The communication with the owner was great. We did go to the farmers market and the Wardensville Garden Market. We also visited Lost River State Park and Trout Pond for some hiking.

Wonderful cabin getaway!
This cabin is perfect for a family trip. There are so many different spaces to relax in and hang out together. The view from the upper deck is beautiful. Everything was clean and the kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The host knew we had a toddler and even offered a baby gate for the stairs, which was a huge help! One thing to note is that the downstairs stays significantly cooler than upstairs. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind while packing!

Can't say enough good things
The property owner is possibly the best one I've ever worked with (and I've rented a lot of places). Communicative, patient, friendly...just an absolute wonderful person to work with! The property was absolutely gorgeous - the heated floors are amazing, and sitting in the hot tub while snow fell was a super special experience. Kitchen is well stocked, house is very clean and internet held with 2 kids tele-learning and 2 adults teleworking simultaneously. Solid thumbs up!

Just wonderful
This cabin is so spacious and comfortable. This was our second stay and both vacations were amazing. Stacey and her husband were kind enough to plow the driveway and help out with some television technical issues! Thank you so much. For me, there is nothing better than snuggling up with my favorite man and watching a great movie. The kitchen is well equipped and the gas stove is the best to cook on. The bed was comfortable and the gas fireplace just adds not only warmth, but ambience. Finally, Stacey, thank you for your patience and help with my reservation making! I appreciate it.

Best Vacation Stay Ever!
What a gorgeous home, with stunning views! This home had everything we needed for our entire stay, minus our food that we went to town for! Not far from several state parks, waterfalls, and shopping areas. Have I mentioned the views?? Wow! We also got to see a bunch of local wildlife and that was really awesome. Relaxing hot tub inside a screened in porch was a real bonus along with wrap around covered decks and rocking chairs. The pictures posted is what it is, but in person was much better, we really enjoyed our week there! Excellent communication with the host the entire time. If you're looking to book a nice place, this is it... we really didn't want to leave! Thank you Stacey!

Annual Thanksgiving Trip
The cabin is in a great location and was very clean when we arrived. Check in instructions and departure instructions were very clear and easy to follow. My family and I spent a great week together playing games and decompressing from our busy lives. The dogs enjoyed roaming free and stretching their legs in the picturesque mountains. We had everything needed to prepare all of our meals. Loved the gas and wood fireplaces for their warmth and ambiance. I especially enjoyed the hot tub with a good cigar and whiskey. Just remember to let the hot tub heat up before getting in. It takes some time. Stacy was very quick to respond to our requests. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The "Lost" Weekend
My friends and I were planning a getaway to reconnect and heal together. We have been friends for 30 years and had each suffered our own personal nightmares recently. It was going to be the first time we would all be in the same room in 8 years. We stumbled upon this beautiful house on VRBO and decided to go for it. Stacey responded promptly to our request to stay as well as to every question. The house was clean, comfortable and elegant. There was very little that we needed to leave the house for. In the end, our crew traveled from Illinois, New York and Florida to reconnect and found home together once more. Thank you Stacey! Your home was warmly welcoming, comfortably elegant and perfectly positioned. We looked at the scenery day in and day out. It was excellent.

The location is great the home itself very nice, we could not use the hot tub did not look clean had ants and stuff floating in it, even after Paul cleaned it up when we tested the day after he was there it was low on chlorine again. The beautiful master suite upstairs had bugs on one side of the bed they sent pest control...but we sent owner more video to let her know the bugs were still there and very much alive, so needless to say no one slept in that bedroom and we did not use the hot tub. The screened in porch off the downstairs bedrooms had to be cleaned up before we could sit on the furniture more than a little dusty. Other than that it was great!

Easter break with grandson
First, I appreciate Stacey answering all my questions, and making the whole process simple. Not only was the communication great (& friendly) the house had all my “wants” which is not usually the case. Very soft/cozy sofas to lounge in, uncomplicated TVs, decks with a view & rocking chairs, fireplace (wood provided), hot tub, a bathroom in every bedroom, a soaking tub, ample towels, comfortable mattresses, kitchen with everything & CLEAN dish/cookware, little things like pump hand soaps in the bathrooms, trash bags, foil, sweeteners available, etc. also, the housekeepers do a super job cleaning the home. You get the idea. Best of all, we were able bring our senior furbaby with us. Did some wandering over to Blackwater Falls and Lost River State Park but otherwise just enjoyed the peaceful environment at the house (mostly listening to birds on the deck). We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Stacey’s home on the mountain in Baker.

What a great city escape
We had a lovely week! The owner was attentive and responsive to questions! The rooms were spacious and kept nice and cool on hot days. The hot tub was great after hikes! 20-25 minutes from George Washington Forest Trout Lake, 25-30 from Lost River Hikes. 45-50 from Blackwater Falls. The farm store/bakery in Wardensville is only open Fri- Sunday so plan accordingly to avoid the despair of missing out. That is a great local treasure. The Lost River Trading Post was a nice spot to support local artisans and find wine, cider, and holiday presents. But best of all was coming back to this property. We snuggled on the couch and watched a show at night. We went for long walks around the neighborhood with our pups. We watched butterflies and moths and birds on the porches (luna moths included!) We had lovely meals on the lower patio and in the main room. This is just a great place to gather and reconnect! We would love to come back.

Great House, big and clean and quiet
Stacey is great and very quick to respond and easy to work with. We had a minor accident and broke a piece of fence. I tried to get the parts to replace it and when I couldnt called Stacey right away to let her know and seek help with a solution. She was great and understanding and we quickly resolved the problem. They house is very well appointed with ceiling fans everywhere and a great screened in porch with a television and dining table to spend more time but free outside. You could not ask for more. Plan ahead or anticipate an easy drive to Walmart to stalk up, it’s about 30 minutes away but has everything you need if you want to pack light. Everything you need from linens to cooking and everything is there. Brand new washer and Demeter and high speed internet was important to us for work while away. We had two zoom sessions going on with no hiccups and streaming Tav with our own Roku was very easy with the Wi-Fi with no buffering.
