Weekend break in the Cotswolds
The cottage is set in the tranquil grounds of a large house. With lovely gardens and stables all around. It was perfect for our trip to Westonbirt Arboretum and surrounding villages. Very relaxing stay.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. A small but perfectly formed cottage in a quiet setting so quiet we could hear the owls at night.

Lovely stay at Orchard Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchard Cottage. It was well equipped and perfectly located for our planned visits to Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum. Beautiful location and good weather meant we could enjoy breakfast on the patio. The jug of milk in the fridge on arrival was much appreciated, thank you. We ate at The Kings Arms one evening which is highly recommended and just a short stroll from Orchard Cottage. Overall, a super comfy stay and two great night's sleep!

Lovely Stay!
Orchard Cottage was a very lovely place which was clean and had everything we needed. It was also comfortable and cozy. It had an excellent location for us to visit everything in the Cotswolds that we wanted to. It was also exceptionally quiet overall!

Perfect village retreat
This charming and clean cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Easy access to walking paths and short drives to Cotswold villages and more walking. It was just what I needed to enjoy the gorgeous area and recharge. Highly recommend.

Cosy cottage in quiet surroundings
Orchard cottage was lovely and had a very cosy homely feel to it. The area is very quiet perfect for getting away from city living. There are a number of areas nearby to visit within a half hour drive or less so plenty to do and see. The King's Arms is a lovely pub to go have a drink at or have some food and only a short walk away.

Long Weekend Break
Great location about 25 mins from Bath and some beautiful scenery. Plenty of National Trust places nearby. Only (minor) faults with the property were lack of an oven glove and no fan in bathroom meant some steaming up.

Excellent in every way.
Excellent base for our spring tour around Highgrove and subsequent walks around the beautiful surrounding countryside right from the front door. Really inviting from the moment we drove up the daffodil lined drive. The inside was tastefully decorated, neat and tidy with everything needed for a short break. Highly recommended.

Weekend at Orchard Cottage
An absolutely beautiful place in an idyllic location (quiet and away from everyone). Orchard Cottage is perfect for two people and ideal for those who find stairs difficult . I could quite happily live in Orchard Cottage . The only advise we could think of is, some people might not be used to an enamel bath (bit slippery when wet) so maybe purchasing a non slip shower mat would be ideal!

Peaceful, relaxing and convenient cottage close to Westonbirt Arboretum
The cottage was as described and was very clean and tidy. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely cotton sheets, everything in the bathroom was spotlessly clean and functioned well. The parking space was adjacent to the cottage and a small outdoor seating area provided an opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful garden surroundings of the neighbouring large house. The kitchen area was very compact but well equipped - we cooked a meal most evenings except when we strolled down to the local friendly pub. The housekeeper was very helpful when we rang her for further details on locating the exact position of the cottage and the owner and gardener were both very friendly. The location was perfect as my husband was attending a course at nearby Westonbirt Arboretum. Malmesbury, Tetbury. Westonbirt and Miserden Gardens are all worth visiting. We would stay again.

Perfect last minute break
This was a last minute booking that was handled with ease. The cottage was next to a stable for horses, which were a sight to see! Definitely no issues with disturbances from them. And the garden view was beautiful, best in the summer time I suppose where you can relax and soak in the view. They had a good heating system where it didn't take long for us to feel toasty indoors. Overall, it was a perfect cottage that had all the amenities we needed.

Our first holiday as a 3
The location of the cottage was picturesque and the horses are beautiful. Our first family holiday as a 3 with our 1yr old. First arrival to the cottage inside is very undated, had an old stuffy smell to the place and had cobwebs in the wardrobe's, the tv is very slow, there was also mould on the inside of the curtains in the bedroom and its smaller than advertised on the website. The bed it’s self was uncomfortable as the temperature was 24 degrees there was no A/C or anything provided to cool the place down. Met the owner of the cottage on second day he was very polite. All together the holiday it’s self was lovely great weather, great location apart from what was mentioned we did have a lovely holiday.

Lovely cottage
Orchard cottage was very clean, cosy and in a lovely location. This cottage is the ideal getaway, the garden and views whilst sitting relaxing after a days exploring the Cotswolds, was absolutely perfect. The cottages facilities for cooking ensured after a long day we didn't have to venture out for food and the recent refurbishment meant our stay was relaxing. There was also the added bonus of beautiful gardens to view and horses, both in the fields adjacent to the cottage and stable yard, perfect for horse lovers. The information given prior to arrival ensured we arrived without any problems and easy access to the cottage. I would definitely recommend a visit, the cottages proximity to lots of Cotswold attractions definitely is a bonus. We hope to return in the near future.

Stay at Orchard Cottage
Our stay at Orchard Cottage in Didmarton was great. The cottage was very clean and modern. We had a lot of useful communication after we booked and were kept up to date right up to the day of arrival. We found it easily using, ‘What Three Words’. Lots of information on what to do in the area and of course we drove further afield to view some lovely, quaint villages, Borton on the Water, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Castle Coombe and Stow on the Wold to name but a few. In the evening we walked around Didmarton itself. Some reviews said that the horses disturbed them but we didn’t find that at all. It was lovely to watch them as we were sitting in the garden area. There is a Tesco 20 minutes drive away in another lovely place called, Tetbury, where we picked up some self catering supplies. All in all, a lovely cottage, in a lovely setting.

A good base for touring the Cotswolds but needs some updating
Lovely stay at Orchard Cottage. It's a really good base to tour the Cotswolds and the surrounding area. The cottage was clean and tidy but only the bare minimum was provided. A pair of oven gloves would have been useful and maybe just one or two pint glasses (we bought our own in the end). The bathroom was clean and tidy but our bath towels were threadbare with holes and could do with replacing. The corner of glass the shower curtain is also an issue. In order to get out of the shower the curtain needs to be moved and I cut my foot quite badly on the corner. Some of the mini toiletries left were half used and I wasn't sure if they'd been left by a previous party. The bed was fine. Small and an old fashioned sprung mattress which could do with updating. However, the cottage is sufficient for two adults looking for a no frills base to explore a beautiful part of the country.

The location of the cottage is great if you like horses and peace and quiet, in the local area you have several small towns where you can buy the things you need.

Fantastic Place To Stay
We stayed for a weekend and I couldn't recommend Orchard Cottage more. We didn't hear the horses at all, although they were there but caused us no issues. The place was spotless, we didn't want for anything whilst we were there. Got a bit lost getting there in the dark but rang and spoke to Bobby who was able to direct us. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it.

A little Gem
We arrived to find the cottage immaculately clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and had been dressed with high quality bedding making it difficult to get of in the morning!! The cottage was furnished well and the little touches of candles and throws gave it a cosy feel. The cottage backed on to a paddock and orchard. Bob one of the resident horses was always pleased to see us and kept us company throughout our stay. The owners of the property Bobby & Sue were lovely people, always checking we had everything we needed if they saw us making us feel very welcome! Can’t recommend this little Gem enough, tranquil and set in beautifully kept grounds, a home from home that made our anniversary feel very special. Thank you.

Nice but disappointing
We booked this new property and a week beofre arriving received an email from Stay Cotswolds to say that the property adjoins stables but horses were not using these during the summer months April- September. We had no way of knowing this before booking. On one morning at 6.18 am we were woken by horses. One was clearly in the stable immediately adjacent and it woke us. It felt as though the horse was actually in the bedroom , I’m guessing because the walls between are not that insulated. Disappointing given we were told ( albeit late in the day) that no horses would use the stables during the month we were there. The weather was fine and it was not cold or wet. Secondly there were some items in the property that were clearly old. The sofa was stained and once sat on became flat immediately. The bed was so old too. I’ve not seen a bed of that nature for many years. It was clearly past it’s best. Such a pity when the bathroom and kitchen are of good quality and new ( although the sink in the bathroom wasn’t fastened to the wall).
