Siren's Song, as described, is a tidy and clean 3 BR/2 BA home (albeit a little bit dated) just a half-block away from the Avon shore. Our family had plenty of space, used the outdoor decks quite a lot, and made the beach our de facto backyard. The house had kitchen amenities provided in good working condition, and the linens provided by an outside service arrived bleached and wrapped in a secured container, so we were further assured of their cleanliness.
Hatteras Realty, the property management, has some systems that are effective (an app with local information, and emails beforehand), but we had difficulty communicating with them both before and during the stay. Before the stay, I asked about the TV service at the house per another review, and was assured it was working. It wasn't when we arrived. A detailed email to the management office ended up entered wrong in their system, which I discovered when I called later that week with another repair issue (windows not closing properly).
A couple of helpful notes for future visitors:
- Beach access, very close by, is over a dune. Visitors with limited physical abilities may have trouble getting over it.
- Research whether your cell provider is accessible in Avon. That meant that we had to hit up the coffee shop for free wifi to download the confirmation email with our keyless entry code. The house comes with a landline for local calls, and Internet service was reliable.
- An outdoor shower is provided, as well as a hose to rinse off your feet. A charcoal grill is available outside, but you provide your own briquettes and lighter.
- Route 12, the main road in and out of town, is close by but was not noisy.
