Excellent base for exploring!
This was our second stay at Heather Cottage, chosen for the space, location and amenities provided, which are much appreciated. Probably a couple of areas would benefit from some refreshing but overall an excellent property and would consider returning in the future.

Great stay
Well appointed cottage with good facilities. Great location on the outskirts of the town but easily walkable to bars and restaurants etc.
Hot tub and log burner are a great addition. Will certainly consider renting again!

2nd stay
Our second time staying at Heather Lodge and most likely be back next year. Love the privacy of the garden and the two seating areas, the hot tub is magical at night time. It’s near shops and take aways as well as a short walk to Aviemore Centre.

Nice wee break
Myself and my family stayed here for three nights. We enjoyed the location in the heart of Aviemore with a great pizzeria close by. The hot tub was very welcome after a day in the outdoors as was the woodburner. Great facilities.

Great cottage, everything we needed for a relaxing break. We love this place!
We’ve stayed in Heather Cottage 5 times now and we just keep coming back. We love the location and how easy it is to jump on the bikes and follow some great cycle routes or just head into town. The cottage itself has everything we need for a family of 4. We especially love the log fire and the hot tub. The cottage is always clean, comfortable and cosy.

Another sunny stay
Great lodge, very private and quiet, option of two sittings areas in the garden which my son and dog loved. Lovely view of the cairngorms, coop and take always nearby. Will be back.

Lovely cottage
This was our second stay at Heather Cottage, although it was very nice it wasn’t as nice as 2 years ago, general wear and tear on the property, could do with a paint refresh and some more homely touches.
we feel the house wasnt given a deep clean as you would expect, given that you are spending a lot of money.
We enjoyed our stay and hope these comments are helpful

Another Great Stay at Heather cottage
Lovely house. One minor problem which was immediately rectified by GNL. We have stayed here several times. Garden upgrades have made such a difference. Master bed very uncomfortable for us and creaky but otherwise this house is brilliant and we will stay again as frequent travellers to Aviemore

Warm comfortable home from home
We enjoyed our stay in Heather Cottage. We spent the week hill walking and coming off the hill at the end of the day and relaxing in the hot tub was bliss. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to cook several evenings but likewise the village is only a 20-30 minute walk, depending where you’re going, so going out for a bar meal was easy. I’m a bit fussy with my bed but fortunately I didn’t waken up in the morning with a sore back so it must have been ok. Bathrooms both decent and functional. Overall would definitely recommend staying here. A little bit out of the centre of Aviemore but still walkable, and the hot tub just makes it a real holiday!

A comfortable cottage with an amazing hot tub
Our family really enjoyed our holiday to Heather Cottage in August 2024. The house was tastefully furnished and we have everything we needed. The mattresses were very comfortable and there were plenty towels for everyone to use. However, it would have been even better if we were provided with extra towels to use with the hot tub. The highlight of the trip was the top quality and very spacious hot tub which we used at least twice a day! It was lovely to come home to a warming hot tub at the end of our active days out in Aviemore. We had mixed weather during our stay, but the hot tub has a roof, so we were able to use it despite the weather. There is a Co-op 5 mins walk which is very handy!
The location is great, it's easy to access and the surrounding streets are quiet. You can access lots of family fun activities near-by.

Heather Cottage
Cottage is lovely. Great to have the hot tub and the garden layout was good as there are 2 different seating areas one at hot tub and one adjacent to the kitchen . Fence to the left side of the hot tub could maybe be a bit more private (gaps in fence) as backing onto neighbours drive but that's a minor issue. Cottage well maintained, kitchen well stocked with everything we needed for our weeks stay. Location good, quiet area but within 10 min walk to local shop and 2 takeaways and 20 minutes to town centre. Only downside for us was not having a 2nd TV in the cottage, we were travelling with young child so having an option to put on their favourite shows while adults watched something else would have been good. All in all a great wee cottage and we hope to book again.

A spacious and comfortable lodge
Aviemore itself is a beautiful place and the location of the lodge helps get to any trails, hike routes and other breathtaking natural sites with ease.
There's plenty of space in the lodge, it's got great heating which is accessed by a single thermostat right at the entrance.
The hot tub was amazing and has been used on an almost daily basis.
The kitchen was very well equiped, had great cooking facilities, easy to use hob and oven and generally had lots of storage space.
The living room was comfortable with great couches, a big tv, some lovely decor, the wifi had decent speed and plenty of channels to choose from.
The welcome pack could use some updating.
The instructions for the wifi password were incorrect and the correct password was on the router itself.
To add to that, we couldn't find any instructions for the fire place (we were both inexperienced with handling it) as it was getting very cold during our stay. A pair of slippers could have also been nice, but that was a minor issue.
The washing machine could have also used some cleaning and the en-suite bathroom's ceiling and window could use some updating.

Heather Cottage
The house is in a quiet area of a large estate, with easy access to woodland walks and the orbital path. There are numerous play parks for children on the estate and a Coop nearby along with a chip shop which was very handy on the first night. It has a well equipped kitchen with plenty of cutlery, pots and pans if like us you don’t want to eat out every night.
On the downside I really thought that the property could benefit from a sweeping brush rather than just the dust pan and brush to make sweeping the crumbs up and dog hair up rather than wrestling with the Henry Hoover. Plus we couldn’t get the Sky TV to work, however we could have contacted the office about that, and it wouldn’t stop us booking another stay.
