The Watson Farm

This peaceful farmette beneath the Dark Skies will capture your heart. You’ll feel right at home with the newly renovated interior. Take your morning coffee out to the new deck and watch nature come to life or push yourself out on the rowboat to clear your head and relax on the water. Challenge your friends to a game of cornhole or if you’re feeling energetic take a hike to the top of the mountain behind the house. As the sun sets grab some firewood and build a roaring bonfire making memories that last a lifetime. . The wild apple trees, an old root cellar and the small barn with some of the original farm tools are just some charming aspects of the old farm. You’ll love the huge yard, plenty of room for games and activities. Kids can spend countless hours fishing in the pond or playing in the stream. The porch and the new deck provide plenty of space to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

As you walk through the door from the back you’ll enter the mudroom. You’ll find hooks for clothes and a small powder room to your left. Then entering the kitchen/dining area you’ll have seating for 12 and all that you need to cook your favorite meal. Plus a walk-in pantry to stash your food during your stay. Walk down the hall to your left is the master bedroom with its own walk-in closet and bathroom. To your right down a few steps is the living room. Upstairs you’ll have the loft with views towards the pond and two bedrooms each having their own walk-in closets and access to the bathroom. There’s a washer and dryer in the basement.

Don’t forget to explore the surrounding area. We are 20 minutes from Cherry Springs State Park, widely considered to be the best stargazing destination east of the Mississippi. Also just a short drive from the farm the First Fork Sinnemahoning provides some of the best fly fishing in the state. Austin Dam, PA Lumber Museum and the Coudersport Ice Mine are some of the local attractions. The PA Grand Canyon and Kinzua Bridge State Park are a few more must see destinations.

Gorgeous farmette
We were so thrilled with this place. The home was beautifully decorated and so serene. Plenty of room and the location next to the pond and trees was perfect. Good wifi and smart tv were a plus. Loved the sitting area by the glass doors and the sitting area upstairs. While the kitchen had most tools needed to cook our meals, it could have had a few more basic tools, i.e. colander, med size saucepan, and the gas grill tank was empty. These were minor annoyances, and would not stop us from totally recommending this place. Gave us a lot of decorating ideas. It is such beautiful country and we love seeing the stars at Cherry Run SP

A great family escape in a fantastic location
The Farmette was the perfect escape for our family and we will absolutely look to rent it again! We found the inside open and modern, well updated, and very tastefully decorated. The property also has nice touches like the media room that provided a warm space for a movie or games when we weren't outside enjoying the firepit. The property is location is close to many activities, attractions, and state parks but we also found tons of wildlife all around including Elk, Bald Eagles, and a black bear.

fresh air, dark skies
We all had a fine time. The boys really enjoyed the basketball hoop and the large green for playing ball. The fire ring was lots of fun in the evening. The condition of some of the windows and screens was a problem, but the fans helped a lot.

Peaceful Stay
Our family enjoyed this cozy, peaceful house with views of wildlife and not much traffic past the house. We enjoyed walking around the area, sorting by the pond and sitting inside within the two sitting areas/ living rooms. Thank you for our wonderful week away.
