We arrived about 8:30 PM the Wed. before Thanksgiving 2023 to find the home with no electricity or heat. Temperatures were in the 40s, and the home was cold. The freezer leaked water out indicating the power had been out long enough for the ice in the freezer to melt. Circuit breakers were on, but no power. The home smelled of cigarette smoke, and the bathrooms had a total of 4 towels and no wash cloths or hand towels. I spoke to property contact by phone about it all. He said he'd try to get the power on but did not guarantee power that night. We requested a refund. A full refund was agreed to and then he called back after we left to ask if we would stay anyway if he gave us one night for free. We declined, and he said he understood and would process the refund. We then had to find and pay for a hotel. Thanksgiving day, when we didn't see the refund in process, we called the representative. He did not answer our calls or emails. We called VRBO. They asked if we had video evidence of the power outage or proof of the various issues. We did not video the few minutes we were in the home, since we couldn't stay in the cigarette smoke smelling home due to allergy to smoke. With no heat, electricity, way to cook or keep our food cold, we could not stay. We were asked to go back over and video Thanksgiving day and did so. We sent VRBO the video showing that the code to enter had been changed preventing any access. VRBO has been less than helpful. No refund has been given.
