The vacation home is as advertised, right on Lake Travis. Perfect location for those looking for a low key vacation staying at and enjoying the house but also having easy access to water activities, though water levels are at its lowest since the last decade. Also easy drive to other activities in North Austin and less than 10 minutes drive to grocery stores, malls, etc. though the drive quickly immerses you in the Hill Country! Could've fooled me thinking it was the Bay Area!
The rental is modern, comfortable and well-furnished with kitchenware and cleaning supplies that families would need. We were impressed with the downdraft kitchen exhaust vent. Our party had small children under 6, and while house is relatively safe, we had to be careful on the hardwood floor/steep stairs. There was a small miscommunication through the Vrbo app on keyless entry code/alarm code but that was solved quickly. Also there weren't print outs of specific rental instructions at the house but most of it was online. The first night we discovered a few issues with hot water not available in 2 of the bathrooms and some wasps flying around the patio but issue was addressed promptly the next day. Teresa was very prompt to respond to any questions and made herself available during our stay.
Areas of improvement: We would've liked to see some bigger pots for cooking spaghetti, for instance, since this rental caters for bigger parties, as well as wine glasses and accessories. Also while understandable that some wear shoes indoors, the bottoms of our feet were black after walking around inside the house, so a good mopping is needed. The fire from the range top was also a bit low so cooking was a bit slow. The big TV was hooked up to Netflix and others were wireless enabled for your own logins. However, some board games or water equipment (kayaks or paddle boards) would make this an outstanding rental!
Overall we enjoyed the trip and barely wanted to leave the house - it was fun!
