Dove Haven is a large house in a quiet, secluded neighborhood along Walnut Creek. The house is two stories (3,600 sq ft), with 7 queen beds (one is a sofa bed) and 1 king bed. The house sleeps 16 at no extra charge. It has 6 large bedrooms (each with a private or connecting bath, and each with a large walk-in closet); 4½ bathrooms; a large open-space living/dining/kitchen area; an office with a sofa bed that doubles as a 7th bedroom; a beautiful heated pool with hot tub (spa); and stained concrete flooring downstairs. The bath in the master bedroom has a Jacuzzi in addition to its shower. There's no extra charge for using the outdoor hot tub (spa). Heating the entire pool is $75 for up to 4 days, mostly a fuel charge.
The 6 bedrooms are each like a hotel room. Each has a TV with a broad suite of entertainment viewing options. And each has a private or connecting bath. The 7th bedroom (Office) likewise has a TV, but no attached bath. One bedroom has 2 queen beds; others have 1 queen or king bed (see pictures). Two bedrooms are downstairs having private baths; four bedrooms are upstairs having connecting baths (Jack & Jill). One upstairs bath has tub and shower; the other has shower-only. (SEE CAPTIONS UNDER PICTURES FOR BED ARRANGEMENTS.)
My housekeeper calls it a hotel; reviewers have called it a resort!
The house is wheel chair accessible. Entrance from garage has a wheelchair ramp (7" floor difference). The entire house ground floor is all same floor level (including 2 bedrooms, baths, outside deck, all same floor level).
Dove Haven is within 4 miles of Austin’s largest technology companies--Apple, Samsung, Applied Materials and Dell (Silicon Hills!). It's suited for large family or business gatherings and entertainment. The exceptionally large living area has a 65” UHDTV with Polk Audio sound system.
Called a MESH WiFi, multiple WiFi units broadcast throughout the house at 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz. It runs amazingly fast at speeds 200 - 300 Mbps (3 WiFi units all wired to Ethernet backbone is how we get this speed using AP configuration mode). 2.4 vs 5.0 GHz broadcast band is auto-selected (best performer selected automatically). In addition, wired ports are active in four rooms.
For all 8 TVs in the house, Roku voice remotes are used to select content from internet streaming services, or air-cast from your personal device. Select from a vast array of free services or from your own subscription service. Use your voice when selecting a streaming service (Roku remotes provide this technology for all TVs). Simple instructions are provided: for example, say “launch Netflix”, or "find kid TV shows," or "find all Clint Eastwood movies," or "find It's a Wonderful Life movie." You’ll be amazed! Dove Haven is a blend of high-tech and amazing outdoors!
Or switch any TV to air-TV with a selection of over 48 local broadcast channels, including all four major networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC).
Show your business presentations, or any personal content, on the living room 65” Roku TV with Polk Audio Soundbar/subwoofer. Do this either wired or wireless (i.e., air-casting). For a wired connection, your laptop (or other portable device) requires an HDMI jack. (HDMI cables are provided in the house.)
Talk to someone in another room using the intercom system, or use it for whole-house radio. On cold days enjoy the warmth and ease of a beautiful gas log fireplace—a special type that radiates heat. The kitchen has granite counter-tops.
Located between Austin and Round Rock, near I-35, it has quick access to Austin’s entertainment district, Domain Austin (4 mi), UT football games, shopping, Round Rock, and Georgetown.
Behind Dove Haven is a 6-acre wooded area with a network of trails that are well maintained. You access it through a gate marked “Nature Trail” along the back fence behind the pool. After a short walk, the trails take you to Walnut Creek. This is the largest creek in the Austin area north of the Colorado River. It’s part of the Texas Hill Country—where water runs clear! There’s perch and bass in the creek and it’s okay to fish. It’s very private to where you don’t need a fishing license. Hike up & down the creek for miles (bring aqua shoes). The creek has a limestone rock bottom and large, beautiful rock formations. It’s all very safe, beautiful and private. You likely will not see anyone else. It’s a large creek and you’re walking through a flood zone that’s not buildable, thus will stay that way. The woods are filled with Nandina which produce colorful red berries during winter and spring. You will find a huge old oak tree that’s easy to climb. Dove Haven is unique that it offers all this for the adventuresome.
PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO CHILD-PROOF FENCE AROUND THE SWIMMING POOL!!
The backyard is fully privacy-fenced, with locking gates. The neighborhood is very safe and peaceful!
