"Loved Le Ferme Aux Chats. Only saw one cat, and one very friendly dog. The owner is lovely, and very helpful and knowledgeable about the WWII sites/mist-sees. The breakfasts were lovely and delicious with home made baked goods and marmelades. We will return one day! "

Grandcamp-Maisy is a very nice town and the food and staff at Restaurant de la Marée is seriously top notch, lots to do in the surrounding area as well."

"We enjoyed our 5 days in Pascale's house immensely. Exceptionally clean, well equipped and ideally located for the bakery, beach, butchers, bars and restaurants. "This is the place to stay if you're going to Omaha Beach/American cemetery/Overlord museum and you're driving your own car/rental car. It is amazingly located near all the things in the area you'll want to see and they have free parking. Bonus, you don't have to drag your luggage up the stairs because your room is right next to your parking space. Our room was very spacious, very clean, and the walk in shower was very large. It also had a large bed and a smaller one, so if you're traveling with a child, there is ample space for everyone to be comfortable. We were there during the off season so things were fairly quiet, I couldn't say what the atmosphere in the area is like during the high season, but I suspect this would still be the best place in the area. Celine was very kind and responsive, she messaged right away on Whatsapp to let us know the status of our room and when we could check in. *Important for Americans - they provided a mini fridge in the room that actually kept beverages cold, which is apparently not a thing anywhere else in this country. They also had complimentary bottles of water in the fridge, so it was a very welcome touch to finally have a cold drink after a week of drinking room temperature water and barely cool soft drinks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to the area looking for a good place to stay."
