The AuTrain Lake House, Newly renovated home on Autrain Lake near Pictured Rocks

The “Au Train Lake House” is located 15 minutes west of Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. For you snowmobiler/ATV folks we are only a few minute ride to the trails. We own 3 other properties within a couple miles from this lake house and maintain a 5 star rating on all of them. This is a very spacious home that is newly renovated , central A/C, all new furnishings, linens and an amazing custom kitchen with granite counter tops. You will find everything you need to cook or prepare mostly anything. Also, you will find a drip coffee maker with filters provided, as well as a Keurig (BYOB pods)

Stay at the Autrain Lake house and you could wake up early and watch the sun rise over Lake Au Train on the east facing front patio or sit on the back deck in the evening and watch it set over our private Paulson Lake. Our lake home seep sleeps seven (including adults, children & infants) & sits on a unique “dual lakefront” lot with no neighbors. The setting is one you would never grow tired of!

Autrain Lake is great for watersports and fishing. With a public boat launch on the south end of the lake, bring your own Rec/fishing boat to our 30ft dock (in from mid-June until early September). Spend some time in or out on the water, paddling around in one of our 4-10 ft kayaks or 2-SUPs we have on site available to rent. (Life jackets and paddles included) They are $75 per unit for the length of your stay (payable on site if you wish.) If you pre-pay them in advance with your reservation they are only $50 per unit for the entire duration of your stay. Recap your day near the campfire watching the sunset over Paulson Lake unwinding from hiking and waterfall touring. Campfires in designated pit area only. Absolutely NO FIREWORKS on property at any time. In the winter months, after a day of play on your sleds, come back and warm up by the fireplace, or cozy up on the couch to watch a movie, on the 55" Samsung Smart TV with 200+ built in channels, plus Hulu or Netflix capabilities as well as gaming inputs. Ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi. Just a note: the attached garage is for owner storage & not available for guest use. UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER WEATHER RELATED CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS, OR DATE CHANGES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

We will allow 1 pet at the Au Train Lake House, you must inquire first, as we do have a pet policy that must be agreed upon, as well as a small pet fee.

Lake house living
This was a nice, quiet, private house. Really a great setting for our golden retriever. Small neighborhood to walk your dog adjacent to the house worked out really well! The sunrises over the lake were absolutely beautiful!

We had a great stay at the home! Everything was very clean and the home was easily accessible. We brought our boat and were able to dock it on the lake directly across the street! We enjoyed our stay at the Au Train Lake house very much. The house was very clean and up to date with a big kitchen and dining area with two additional counters for eating and food prep. Two large bathrooms both with showers made it nice for our group. We will be returning and recommend the house.

Perfect location
The house was very clean and spacious for our family. Autrain was the perfect location to explore the area (waterfalls, picture rock, chapel rock hike, Autrain beach, and Mackinac island). Our family enjoyed having access to the lake in front of the house. We would drink coffee on the dock early in the morning and either swim or paddle board at night. Overall very pleased with the stay.

This property was exactly as the listing stated. Very clean and the house was beautifully decorated. It had all the amenities needed. The house faces the lake and has a stunning sunrise and sunset view. We were pleased with the distance to Munising and pictured rocks adventure. We will for sure be back

Pretty views and very nice home
This house was a beautiful spacious house with views of water from both the front and the back of the house. It was close to the Au Tran river and Lake Superior as well. The kitchen was well equipped- though I would suggest at least 2 matching wine glasses and some potholders. The bathrooms were nice, there were hangers in the bedrooms, the dining room and living room were spacious and the washer/dryer was large. The house was very private with no neighbors . The owner was responsive to questions. The one caution I would give would be that the yard seemed to have chiggers. Be sure you use Off and wear shoes and socks! Otherwise, I loved the house and would recommend it!

A perfect spot to stay for our mid Feb snowmobile trip. The snow was scarce so being able to cut across the lake to the trails was really helpful. This is a beautiful spot situated between two lakes with perfect views of every sunrise & sunset! The house was everything the pictures show - nicely updated, open + functional floor plan, large bedrooms, a full kitchen with all the necessities. A home that feels like it’s been well maintained! Great location to Christmas, Munising, Marquette for shopping and restaurants , plus close to two casinos! We’d definitely stay here again!

Family vacation
This was a beautiful and spacious home, the views off of the back deck were great. The sunrises in the front yard were amazing as well. Property was conveniently located 5 minutes from Lake Superior and 15 minutes from Munising, where we did the glass bottom boat tour, that I highly recommend. Only thing that could have been better was some street traffic because there’s a road in between the front yard and the lake. And after renting the kayaks, access to launching them was tricky getting up and down the small hill next to the dock. But once you were on the lake the views were incredible. All in all it was a great end of summer vacation for me and my family.

Checking in and out was super easy. Matt and Holly are easy to communicate with and very responsive. The home is soo clean, well maintained, updated and decorated soo cute! We were able to park a truck and trailer with our snowmobiles there with ease because they had plowed a portion of the side yard for us. The trails are just up the road maybe a 1/4 of a mile and was an easy ride. Plenty of space in the mud room for storage of bibs, jackets, boots, and helmets. The kitchen is fully stocked! We prepared 3 full meals at night for dinners and had all the utensils we needed! Comfortable beds, beautiful views out front and back windows. Would stay here again! The only thing I was missing was a fan in the bedroom. So, if that’s on your need/want list bring a portable.

Nice but Let’s just say I won’t be back
I encountered a few issues. 1. I have an esa (dog), on the add it said this place was pet friendly but I got charged an extra $99 fee because their cleaning lady charges them. I didn’t think it was fair being that in the state of Michigan we are not supposed to be charged any fees for an emotional support animal. 2. The house reeked of bleach and other cleaning chemicals the whole time we were there, I woke up with a headache every morning. The kuerig machine was dirty still had an old pod in it. No railing on front stairs, had to help my mother up and down when she wanted to sit out on the front porch. 3. There was only 1 tv in the whole house. Those were my issues. The house was nice but she made such a big deal about my dog thinking he was going to damage her home when I reassured her how well trained he is it made it impossible for us to enjoy ourselves without worries. Yes I paid the extra fees she was being charged by the cleaning lady, even though we didn’t leave a mess. She could use some coasters and I cured her iron skillet for her. I enjoyed myself more when I was out of the home and enjoying the town and Lake Superior.
