The lodge is absolutely beautiful and was decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Because we visited in the winter, it was too cold and too dark to really enjoy the lake area or the hiking trails, so we stayed inside the whole time. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire in the central part of the lodge.
The two-room family suite we stayed in was nicely decorated and very clean. Although it looked like it hadn't been stayed in recently as there were multiple cobwebs in the corners and on the ceiling.
Our biggest problem with the room is that no matter how high we turned the thermostat, the heat never really got above lukewarm. I don't think the room got above about 65 degrees the whole night, and it was a cold night. And to make matters worse, there were no winter-type blankets in the room. Just a thin sheet and a thin blanket.
We spent about an hour in the pool. The water was fine, but the room itself was very cold. And the pool area is nice, but a tad run down. The "melting" ceiling fans look particularly bad.
