"We loved the location and walking distance to Nara Park and temples. The staff was amazing and very intelligent! Some of them spoke many different languages. They had many fun things to do and everything we needed as far as amenities. Starbucks right across the pond and shopping centers as well."

"This is a landmark historic hotel, dripping with stories of famous guests. It is grand, warm, welcoming, quiet, comfortable and convenient to Nara Park, Kintetsu Station and many temples. I stayed in the new side which feels very 1990s American hotel style. Roomy for Japan and with a nice balcony. The bar, tea room, sakura lounge and dining room were all comfortable and classy. This is a wonderful place to stay."

"Beautiful hotel, spotless. Really nice onsen. Average food that was way overpriced for what you get. Breakfast was better than dinner. The room was spacious but the shower was very small. Nice bed. "

"The room finishings are top notch. Everything is new and tastefully decorated. It is true that there's a smell in the shower. Hard to know what it is. I recommend keeping the shower door closed, the ventilation on, and then all will be fine. I would stay here again. "

"The rooms are very spacious, very close to train station, a 10 minute walk to Nara Park, shopping street right around the corner. The bed was very comfortable, had great ammenities in the bathroom and the front desk staff was so friendly. They let me leave my bag till check in time while I went to Nara Park for the day."
