"I'd come to Christchurch just to stay here. First, I loved the property. It was easy to get to, in a great location and just the right size. I wish I could have stayed longer, and the photos don't do it justice. It's just the right size - small and intimate. Cute, sparkling clean, and plenty of lighting inside. I'd almost call it a boutique hotel. Second - and most important - was the service. I reserved earlier that day and got there late after a long drive. The host was happy to let me in and even gave me a better room that fit me better. I got unloaded into the room, and found flowers there. What?? I'd mentioned when reserving that it was my birthday and I was looking forward to the room, and in between the time I reserved and the time I arrived, the host went out and bought some flowers for me. It was the nicest surprise from a complete stranger who definitely didn't have to. It's one of the best birthday presents I've ever received."

Unassuming from the outside, The Commodore offers so much more than your standard hotel, beautifully kept native gardens, ev chargers, tennis courts, indoor pool, spacious rooms with their mini courtyards or balconies and a personable restaurant that serves stand out meals. To top it off, the staff are excellent. "
