Wonderful 1 bedroom cottage near Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Canterbury

Riverside Cottage is a quiet little haven for two, only a stone's throw from the East Stour river. Beautifully furnished and overlooking farmland, this is a lovely spot for a relaxing break with great country walks from the doorstep and a good pub, the Farrier's Arms just a minute's walk from the front door. Please note it has parking for one car only. The village shop for all your essentials is about a mile down the road . The cathedral city of Canterbury is only 30 minutes drive with a wonderful array of museums, restaurants and cafes to choose from. For an adventure hop on the train at Eurotunnel which is just down the road and in 35 minutes you will be in Northern France with its pretty villages and beautiful beaches. The quaint seaside town of Hythe is only a 20 minute drive with lovely pebble beaches and boats to hire on the Royal Militray Canal and the famous Port Lympne Wild Animal Park is just five miles away. There really is so much on offer you will be spoilt for choice! Shop: 1 mile Pub: 200 yards Coast: 8.5 miles

What's not to like!
This is wonderful accommodation in a picture postcard setting. Property is extremely well presented with everything you need. Location could not be better. If you like village settings and archetypal country pubs on your doorstep, then this is for you. Highly recommended.

Peaceful, relaxing stay in delightful accomodation
The perfect accomodation for 2, very clean with lovely decor and everything we required. Although next to owners home, felt private with Own entrance and lovely views of the countryside from a small patio area. In a nice village location and the choice of 2 local pubs both very friendly with great food and one only 2 mins walk down the road. We enjoyed Rye, Hythe,walking in the area and the Steam railway, would have visited Port Lympne wildlife reserve if weather had been better. But lots to do within half hours drive from this accomodation. Highly recommend.

Pleasant little cottage on edge of village. Convenient for lots of places and easy access. Nice to have a topsheet on the bed for hot weather, as lots of places don't which is crazy hot with just duvet for summer nights. Would have been nice to have tea and milk, unusual not to be supplied, same for shampoo. The sofa in lounge rather uncomfortable for sitting for any length of time, would be better to have two comfy armchairs. Would give cottage a four out of five for these reasons. Host was a little impatient on day of departure by turning up with cleaning gear at 10.30am and not speaking, or asking if we'd enjoyed our stay, just as we were leaving.

Kent Idyll
We had three nights in this beautiful cottage. We had a friendly welcome from our host, the accommodation was spotless and exactly as the photos showed. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather which enabled us to walk around this village and sample the hospitality of both local pubs but even better to sit out on the west facing patio with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Would certainly recommend.

A Little Haven
My daughter and I were delighted with our stay - the sunny patio and garden area look out onto the countryside. The property was well equipped and the bathroom was roomy with plenty of storage space. The decor was very pleasant. Location for us was perfect for visiting family in Ashford, only a 15 to 20min drive away

This is a spacious, well maintained & well equiped cottage reflecting a lot of thought & care from the friendly & informative owners. Gorgeous countryside view from the lounge room. Nice bathroom & shower. Great location for visiting the highlights of Kent.

Little Gem
What a fabulous little holiday cottage. It is well equipped, modern and very comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything that you might need. Incredible views from the back garden, and as it faces west, you get to see gorgeous sunsets. A small parking space outside which is your space, ditch the car and take a five minute walk up to the pub for dinner. Fantastic food but do book in advance. I would highly recommend this property.

Stunning property and location
Vivian and Tony were lovely and friendly, very helpful with local attractions and directions. The property was spotless, very clean and tidy, bed was nice and comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Garden was well kept and beautiful, perfect spot for watching the sun set looking out across the fields. We hope to come back again soon.

Wonderful peaceful break.
The property was ideal, it had everything we needed. The shower was great and the bed and couch very comfortable. The gardens are well kept and we had a beautiful sunset each evening. Vivian and Tony were the perfect hosts, and Vivian gave us lots of tips of where to visit. The pub just a couple of minutes walk away, was an added bonus. We highly recommend Riverside cottage, and would love to return when we can.

Nice comfortable property in village with shop and currently one pub. Good food here, just be mindful if it is bank holiday as no evening food service on our visit on the Sunday or Monday, only serving drinks. Good community pub though. Lots of easy walks direct from property and lot more to explore further afield. North downs, castles and coast 20 to 30 mins away

Lovely relaxing stay
This is a lovely cottage for two people with great views from the living area. It has all amenities and plenty of space to relax in. It is well situated for visiting south Kent and has the advantage of a pub a few yards away which does great food. The only issue we had was that the wifi did not have a strong signal.
