This third-floor condo has amazing views of Downtown Asheville and Beaucatcher Mountain from its spacious outdoor deck. Original hard wood floors, tall ceilings and plenty of natural light in its living spaces make this condo an extremely comfortable vacation stay. It has one-bedroom with a king bed with a queen-sized sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. It features a full kitchen with bar area for dining, a comfortable den area, a large outdoor deck with unobstructed views, washer and dryer, dishwasher, range and a microwave.

The Altamont Condos is located on historic Church Street in the heart of downtown. The street is tree lined and full of beautiful old buildings including three historic churches. The location is ideal, being close to everything downtown and the street is off the high traffic streets, so it is quieter than nearby Patton Avenue.

This building was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 2010. The historic character of the building was preserved so it continues to fit in on Church Street while adding modern features to make the property environmentally friendly, convenient and extremely safe.
There is high-capacity internet coming into the building and extensive Wi-Fi coverage so you can work remotely during an extended stay. For entertainment we provide a smart TV with Sling and local TV channels, and the Wi-Fi has enough capacity to stream on personal devices.

The building features a large elevator that makes getting luggage in and out extremely easy. There are solar panels on the roof that are behind the original parapet that preheat the building's hot water and electric water heaters in each unit are only used for backup. Heating and cooling are provided by high efficiency heat pumps that automatically bring in fresh air from the outside so indoor air never seems stale. The building also meets the same safety standards as a hotel. There is a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and fire rated emergency exits. You can enjoy the charm of an old structure on a historic street and know that if there is an emergency in the middle of the night you can safely exit the building.

Parking is available in the new Buncombe County public garage on Coxe Ave, it's behind the church across the street and a very short walk. There is another public garage under the A-Loft hotel on Biltmore Avenue.

Steps away from everything, this super clean condo boasts a rare and lovely private balcony. The decor may not pack the same pizazz as other units in the price range but you will appreciate the quality and comfort.

Beautiful log cabin! Walked to town for dinner. Great location! Quiet neighborhood. Perfectly clean and beautifully decorated. Hawaii theme was fun in the middle of winter. Would recommend to anyone coming to Talkeetna for a weekend or longer.

The unit was nicely decorated. Although the bedroom was tight, the bed was comfortable. One suggestion is to be more clear about the parking situation. Even though I paid the full evening rate, I got a $20 ticket because I did not repay the amount by 5am?? The restaurant suggestions were perfect. The living room and kitchen areas were very nice.

We were not in this condo for any long duration… Mostly just the night. So all of the negative comments worked just fine for us. The biggest problem was the horrible Wi-Fi. If you need to do work while you’re staying here… You may want to reconsider because of the Wi-Fi connection.

Great downtown location, not great otherwise.
We rented this unit because my runner husband wanted to be downtown to participate in the Asheville Half Marathon. The condo is adjacent to the Altamont Theater. The unit is pretty bare bones, small, spartanly furnished. Fairly clean. VERY noisy. The loud music from the theater runs until 11. The walls between the units are not well insulated and neighbor noise is quite high. The thermostat was set to 80 degrees when we arrived and we had to plug in lamps, etc. Sheets and towels, some dishware provided. Guest should bring everything else, including iron, ironing board, hangers, paper towels and Kleenex (TP was provided). The outdoor furniture is dirty with bird poop. Oh, and the owner needs to vacuum the bathroom ceiling air intake vent because it is disgustingly filthy. And add another bedside light. One is pretty chintzy. All in all, the only redeeming feature of the Altamont is the location. Next time we'll pay the higher rate to stay in one of the hotels.

Location is great & the condo was clean. From early on in the reservation/research process, something was off. The owner made comments that were curt, but our options were limited so I booked it. Our flight was canceled by the airlines. We ended up arriving one day later & I notified the owner. Due to previous communication, I knew better than to ask for a reduction in the cost. I don’t hold that against him, though it would have been kind. When we arrived, check in was easy. The building was built in the 1800’s, & renovated. The hardwood floors were so old that as they’re walked on, tiny, sharp nails loosen and pop up. We found them with our bare feet. I sent a text to the owner when we had only discovered a few. He wrote back saying he could send someone over to hammer them back in, or he would give us the code for the door where we could find a hammer & do it ourselves. We had an appointment & didn’t get back to him right away. While we were out, he sent someone over to hammer the nails. We were not notified that anyone was coming in to the unit. When I sent another text asking him about it, he said he sent a text & email. We didn’t receive either. I would have appreciated a call from him in this case, as we had valuables in the unit. Amenities (soap, tp, kitchen supplies) are lowest quality and sparse. If you want more than two tiny bars of soap he suggests you bring your own. Check out process was specific & if you miss something minor you can be charged $50.

Misleading Headline
I recognize that people see things differently and expectations for everyone can be different; however, when the headline reads, "Third Floor condo with amazing views of Downtown Asheville" it renders a certain expectation that this place falls short of. "Amazing views" isn't true unless your definition of "amazing" is parking lots, shipping & receiving docks, dumpsters, air conditioning units, and brick walls. The hardwood floors need some care. My husband’s sock got caught in the wood while walking across the floor and ripped his sock. The place was clean overall, though I did question the quality of the cleaning crew as we starred at the cobwebs beneath the entertainment system while watching TV. I couldn’t help but think they must not sweep the floors regularly since the webs are right up front where the unit meets the floor and they wouldn’t be there if the floor was swept regularly. The bed was comfortable, though the size of the bed is entirely too large for the room prohibiting space for clothing. We had to keep our clothes in the living space as there is no room in the bedroom to leave your clothes and get ready. There isn’t even a closet in that room for your clothes. Getting out of the bed on the side closest to the wall is hard too because the bed is only about 10 inches from the wall. There is WiFi in the unit, however it is quite poor. We unfortunately must work when we vacation and while there’s a WiFi connection, the signal strength is very, very weak in all spaces of the unit. We could not find a single room that garnered a decent signal. The quality of toiletry items was very poor though kudos to the property manager for keeping the place stocked with anti-bacterial wipes and hand sanitizer. We did appreciate that touch. We had to book at the last minute and very few places were available just two days before our trip. I might not have chosen this rental otherwise. These concerns were enough to keep us from staying there again in the future, though someone else may not find them issues at all. All-in-all, we felt this unit is not accurately represented and as a result overpriced for what it is.

Beautiful and well-stocked property
This condo is amazing, the little terrace is quaint and they don’t skimp like some properties—there is plenty of paper towels, trash bag, laundry pods, and toilet paper just to name a few. The condo itself is clean and beautiful. When we had an issue at check in accessing the front door, someone immediately texted and took care of it in minutes. Highly recommended and we’ll stay there again.

Location was great. The living area was nice as well as the outside porch. However, there was an inadequate supply of glasses and plates. There were only three stools and one was too high for the counter. The king bed was comfortable but was hard for me to get in and out of the bed since there is only 6 inches on one side. How about moving the bed over a bit and placing a shelf with a reading light there? Also. Please check the floors since we found some protruding the nails in the hallway and in the bathroom. We loved the location with an easy walk to downtown. We enjoyed our visit.
