Pet Friendly Condo Downtown

We are pet owners who love to travel with our dogs and are pleased we can provide this pet friendly condo. This second-floor condo has one bedroom with a queen bed. It features a full kitchen, a large den area, a large deck with unobstructed views of downtown Asheville and Beaucatcher Mountain. It also includes a washer and dryer.

It is easy to walk your dog on this street. There are plenty of grassy areas, just be sure to bring a bag to clean up after your pet and there is a city provided trash container on the curb next door.

There is a $20/night Pet Fee. Please let us know if you are bringing a pet when you book your stay.

The Altamont Condos is located on historic Church Street in the heart of downtown. The street is tree lined and full of beautiful old buildings including three historic churches. The location is ideal, being close to everything downtown and the street is off the high traffic streets, so it is quieter than nearby Patton Avenue.

This building was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 2010. The historic character of the building was preserved so it continues to fit in on Church Street while adding modern features to make the property environmentally friendly, convenient and extremely safe.
There is high-capacity internet coming into the building and extensive Wi-Fi coverage so you can work remotely during an extended stay. For entertainment we provide a smart TV with Sling and local TV channels, and the Wi-Fi has enough capacity to stream on personal devices.

The building features a large elevator that makes getting luggage in and out extremely easy. There are solar panels on the roof that are behind the original parapet that preheat the building's hot water and electric water heaters in each unit are only used for backup. Heating and cooling are provided by high efficiency heat pumps that automatically bring in fresh air from the outside so indoor air never seems stale. The building also meets the same safety standards as a hotel. There is a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and fire rated emergency exits. You can enjoy the charm of an old structure on a historic street and know that if there is an emergency in the middle of the night you can safely exit the building.

Parking is available in the new Buncombe County public garage on Coxe Ave, it's behind the church across the street and a very short walk. There is another public garage under the A-Loft hotel on Biltmore Avenue.

We really enjoyed our stay at the this condo. The location is amazing. It's so easy to walk to everything in downtown Asheville. The condo itself was a great size for the two of us and the porch was a wonderful place to sit and have a glass of wine after walking around all day. This place is all about location. You can walk to everything which we did. We could tell this place hasn’t had anyone stay in a while. It was musty at first and the cleaning was not so great. The ‘Bedroom’ is more just a room no windows or closet but there is a small one in the hall. If you want to stay in a great location this is it. Cleaners just need to do more.

The property is located off Church St making it quiet but accessible to everywhere downtown. You can hear the neighbors but for sleeping the sound machine drowns them out. Our dog was excited by the neighboring unit’s two frequent barkers though occasionally. We really appreciated the supply closet in the hallway and the added touch of ice cubes. Ice cubes seems like a small thing but it was a wonderful detail to provide. It kept us from having to run back out after getting settled! We’ll stay here again for sure!

My husband and I were in town for a concert at Harrah's Cherokee Center, and this condo is in a great location. We parked our car, and other than ubering to the concert (because it was raining) we walked everywhere all weekend. We had 2 little dogs with us, and there was plenty of grass right around the condo for walking them.

We love the area, so we wanted to spend our Anniversary there. Biltmore etc. Condo was as advertised. A bit cramped in the kitchen. Need a place to put luggage, No dresser in the bedroom. Know it’s an old building, with all the things that go with that. Toilet needs some maintenance, had to pour water in the toilet tank to flush several times. Slow fill ! Overall it was a great trip.

A nicely appointed apartment next to a pair of churches ensured a peaceful stay yet just blocks from Asheville's best restaurants and shops. The location was great for walking around and enjoying this charming city, even our dog had a great time.

As advertised, minus lack of HVAC temperature control
Location is great but they do not allow you to control the temperature. The coldest allowed is 68, which isn’t good for someone in menopause. The neighbors upstairs can be heard walking (bring white noise), no worries until they are heard from 1am to 4 am. Lots of mentally I’ll homeless, but that’s an Asheville/US problem.

My wife and I came with our two dogs for a mini after Christmas vacation. Location of the property was perfect. In the downtown area and walking distance to plenty of great restaurants and bars. Clear instructions for finding the property and easy check in were provided. In fact we would have given our stay 5 stars all around if it hadn't been for the cleanliness of the condo. There were large fur balls behind the couch and under the end table when we arrived. We understand that this is a pet friendly room but the cleaning service could do a better job of cleaning dog hair from the less obvious places between stays.

We LOVED this apartment! The location could not be better, you are in the heart of downtown but there is essentially no street noise to interfere with sleeping. The apartment itself is beautiful, high ceilings, hardwood floors, very cozy furnishings, big screen TV, really excellent. It had everything we needed as far as dishes, ice cube trays, bathroom supplies, and it is an elevator building which is great for moving your things in and out. I highly recommend this place and would happily rent it again, especially in warmer weather where we could take advantage of the nice balcony. Only thing of note that I saw mentioned in other reviews, if you are a light sleeper, you can REALLY hear the footsteps in the apartment above you. I always sleep with earplugs when I travel so you might want to pack them for this place. :) But otherwise, this is a real gem for fun, convenience and comfort.

Great centrally located in downtown. The apartment had everything we needed and was a comfortable stay. The only concern is it being an old building we had noise from the upstairs apartment walking around and neighbors chatting next door while in the bathroom. Being from New England we understand this is normal with older buildings and with old hardware floors.
