"Excellent location, on a high hill overlooking the bay towards Agios Nikolaos. Tavernas nearby and only 20 minutes drive to Ag.Nik. Within easy reach of most areas at the eastern end of Crete. You need a car here, although there are plenty of bus stops along the main road. However, it would be a bit of a climb back up to the apartment from the road. Very friendly hospitable people. "Fabulous stay at the Ostria Apartments. We stayed for three nights in the Executive Room which had a large terrace with sun beds, sofa, table and umbrella. All the exceptionally clean rooms have recently been refurbished to a very high standard and they all have fabulous views of the bay. Dimitris, the owner was a brilliant and generous host throughout, arranging taxis etc. He also runs an excellent drinks and snack bar next to the pool. "The family owned small complex that could not have been better. The family could not have been kinder, more welcoming and so helpful. We ate in the restaurant downstairs 3 times and it was outstanding and reasonably priced. Amazing view from our balcony. Plenty of parking for our hire car. "Amazing overall! Esp the breakfast service that was a surprise. Only issues: AC was not very powerful. We live in a colder climate and couldn’t get the room below 74 degrees F to sleep. Also, as nice as it was, the pictures are not completely accurate. There is a plunge pool outside the room. But it faces the main entrance/waterfall and gardens. Not as private as advertised"
