Located in Taos County, Valdez is a quiet community perched at the entrance to the Taos Ski Valley, offering breathtaking mountain, canyon and high-desert views. Hiking, mountain biking, cycling, fishing, bird watching, backpacking, horseback-riding, camping, snowboarding, downhill skiing, hot springs soaking, and white-water rafting are all available in the area. Ponderosa and Bristlecone are mirror image private homes. Sun-drenched, vast and warmly appointed, each home features 360º mountain and canyon views, tall ceilings with corbels and latillas, brick entry and radiant-heated tile floors, oversized windows with sliding doors, sky lit staircase, custom woodwork and cabinetry throughout, dual living rooms, propane kiva fireplace on each floor, a cook’s kitchen with European style appliances, full size washer+dryer, original art and regional artifacts, a spacious cedar deck with gas grill and seating off the main living room, and more. The second floor features a grand master bedroom with a king bed, kitchenette and seating for coffee or après ski, enclosed patio with wood-burning chiminea and bench seating, sandstone-tiled full bathroom with tub and a second spacious bedroom outfitted with two queen beds located down the hall. Private vehicles are necessary, 4-Wheel/All-Wheel drive strongly encouraged, if not crucial, particularly in the winter months. Shuttle services are available for tours and airport transport. The nearest train station is in Ratan, NM. Taos has an airport which accommodates small prop and jet crafts. The nearest international airports are in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM and Denver, CO.
• 4-Wheel Drive / All Wheel Drive vehicles are necessary to access the property via dirt road, particularly in winter, when snow tires are also recommended.
