We really enjoyed the cabin in the woods! Very inviting and roomy, with all the conveniences we needed. We loved it in June, and would love to come back in the winter!
We had a great time at the house for a snow trip. The house was clean, comfortable, and very accommodating. The property manager was very responsive and helpful to all our questions.
It was our second visit to this property and it was even more enjoyable than the first. Very comfortable, well appointed, wonderful and accessible hosts. The entire family really felt comfortable at the house. Definitely a favorite for us.
Another great family getaway. Can't wait for the next one!
This was our third trip to the amazing cabin (castle). It has every amenity that you might need. Big enough for families to have their own space, I just can't say enough about this getaway.
Thanks so much Linda, see you next year!
This is a second time we stayed at the property and it is perfectly located to be close to snow with kids without having to chain up every time. The development get ploughed well but you can catch times in the morning when you can sled in driveways. We go to bear valley for cross country ski and this is a perfect spot. House is well appointed and feels homey, not like a blank rental

The house was well stocked up with various necessities (show shovels, coffee filters) and everything was in great shape. The yard outside was great, large enough for our 2 dogs to run around in the snow a bit

Amazing Vacation
We had our end of summer family vacation here and it was probably the best one we've had so far. There was plenty of room for all the different personalities and time schedules. We enjoyed spending time in the amazing kitchen and back deck including the hot tub. Linda was a super host and made sure our stay was wonderful. We are hoping to go back and you can't go wrong with this amazing mountain getaway.
This is our second trip and we are planning one in August. The owners are fantastic and do everything they can to make your stay a remarkable one. I consider this a home not a cabin because it is so beautiful and is large enough to accommodate our large family. The surroundings are private and peaceful. You will definitely have a vacation to remember.
We stayed at this property over the Memorial Day weekend and it was perfect for my family. The master bedroom downstairs with large master bath was great for my parents who have trouble with stairs. The upstairs bedroom with bunk beds was a hit with my two boys. And there was a pack-n-play that came in very handy for naptime for my brother’s little infant. The large living and dining room had ample space for the whole family of 9 to spend time together. The kitchen was well appointed and we made good use of it for all our meals. The hot tub was ideal for a steamy soak after long hikes in the nearby big trees state park. This house is a gem.
We spent about a week at Linda's beautiful home. It was spacious and clean with plenty of space for our family to spread out and enjoy our vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked great meals every day. The kids always had something to do and loved the upstairs area. We had two days of snow and enjoyed sitting on the back deck while the kids and dogs played. The neighborhood is wonderful and really quiet. Linda was super responsive and quick to check in on us as the snow came down about when the snow plow would come through. We had a wonderful vacation at Linda's cabin and hope to stay there again in the future.
Linda's place was a wonderful spot for us. Perfect accessability to Lake Alpine, Bear Valley, Arnold, Murphys, New Melones, etc. Lots of space, with large rooms, and would easily hold two families with kids, or 3-4 couples without kids. Couches and beds were very comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and utensils, and there were a ton of board games in the upstairs family room. Hot tub was a nice plus, and great after a long day of boating or swimming. Linda was very responsive, and kind enough to move our dates after accidents/injuries forced us to postpone our trip. Would happily stay here again!
This was my first VRBO experience. I did not appreciate that a cleaning fee was charged as an additional fee and not included with the steep nightly fee that required a four day minimum stay. Other than that the home accommodated six adults and two children comfortably. The kitchen and bathrooms were accessorized adequately.
Such a spacious house, well cared for and well equipped. This was a great base to go to bear valley downhill resort and nearby cross country areas as well as Calaveras park. We even got to sled in the neighborhood after a big snow. There is snowplow service so getting in and out was not an issue. Note that you have to take garbage out with you- but transfer station is on the way so was not an issue. Perfect house for a family stay
This is a beautiful mountain home located in a very quiet and relaxing community. The house is very well designed with large spaces that allowed us plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with quality cookware, spices, glassware, and almost every appliance you could want. The deck is spacious and a great place to just hang out. The host was very responsive and it was clear that they have taken care of every detail. We had a few really hot days where the upstairs bedrooms were toasty at night, but ceiling and floor fans got us through. There is only AC in the upstairs den. Overall, a wonderful spot and definitely would return for another visit.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! Fantastic, well-appointed space for two families with 5 kids ages 1-8 years old. It was incredibly clean! There was ample space to hang out and enjoy. The bedrooms offered more than enough space and were very comfortable for all of us (4 adults and the 5 kids). The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils and equipment. The cabin also had a bunch of board games and sleds. We were a great distance away from Bear Valley and were able to hit the slopes early from this location. Wouldn’t change a thing about this place! The hosts were very responsive and friendly! The neighborhood is on a bit of an incline to get into, so chains or winter tires +4WD recommended if it’s heavily snowing/icy. The driveway is plowed which is great though! Thank you for a lovely stay!
Had awesome stay at this beautiful home. In the woods, very relaxing, peaceful home. Would recommend for vacation. We got to check out alot of lakes in the area, all though we didnt get any bites at any of the lakes, but kids enjoyed swimming. Its was really dark at nite time, so any noise we heard our eyes got big thinking a bear was outside. So dark n quiet we freked our selves out at nite 😄 when we got ready to pack the cars, we noticed bear prints all over our granddaughters vehicle. Got picture of a big mountain lion (it looked like one) and a smaller cat out in the street area, but didnt see any deers.. We all really enjoyed the visit..Thank You to the owners for the great time 🙂

Beautiful home!
We stayed at this home for 3 nights with our family and one other including 4 adults and 4 kids and it was amazing! We loved the open feel and layout of the home with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the surrounding area was gorgeous! Everything we needed and much more was provided and Linda was very accommodating and responsive when we had questions. We took advantage of the rec center, relaxing hot tub, propane BBQ and large kitchen, comfy beds, and sent the kids upstairs for movie nights while the adults hung out together downstairs and everyone was happy! We even made it to New Melones Lake one day with the boat which is just under an hour away. The home's big flat driveway provided plenty of parking as well. No one wanted to leave and we're looking forward to booking again in the near future, hopefully during the winter when we can play in the snow!
We stayed here with my parents and my 3 year old. The house is set up perfectly with tons of shared living space, private bathrooms, and the hot tub on the deck is just perfect. Our only disappointment was that we specifically selected a property with access to an HOA recreation center so my son could use the pool (the local lakes/rivers are just too cold). He was talking about the pool all week and very excited. I asked the owner several times about the rec center, to make sure it was open, and that we could access it, how far away it was, etc. and they assured that we could. But when we went to use the pool, the HOA said the homeowner wasn't a member and wouldn't even let us pay to use the facility since the homeowners weren't members. My son was soooo disappointed.
Once again we had a fantastic family time at the mountain cabin. It's not a cabin but a homey house in the woods. We try to go twice a year because our whole family loves it. You will too!
