Seaside Sanctuary - Beach Front Home on the "Island"

Open for rentals! Downstairs completely remodeled after storm. Stairs to the beach are open!

Location Location! This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home is among the sought after Rio Del Mar beach-front homes on the "Island". You can walk onto the sand from your sliding glass door in the living room, enjoy your coffee from the upper deck while looking out to sea, and listen to the sound of the ocean while falling asleep.The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, full bathroom, and living room with tv, fireplace, and large window looking out to the ocean. Upstairs is the other full bathroom and three bedrooms with a deck.

House Rules: This is not a party house. Quiet hours start at 10pm. It's very important to stay off the public walkway and neighbors patio.

Rio del Mar Beach: View the dolphins and seals swimming up and down the ocean during the strolls on the beach. Bring your binoculars for whale watching! Other activities include boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, sea shelling, and building sand castles. It is the perfect playground for everyone!

Walking to shops:Walking distance to the Market, coffee shop, deli, and Cafe Rio Restaurant. A short drive to grocery stores and theaters.

Places to visit: Down Town Santa Cruz, local golf course, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Carmel, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pebble Beach Golf Course, Santa Cruz Harbor

We do not advertise on Craigslist. If you see an advertisement for our home on Craigslist it is a scam.

Do not use patio for self use. Do not climb on seawall. No more than 2 cars per house. Parking is first come first serve along street.

I recommend purchasing travelers insurance due to potential shutdowns
Do not use walkway, rock seawall, or neighbors patio for personal use. No fireworks or parties.

Perfect location beautiful view
This place was perfect and we were lucky it was such a beautiful sunny weekend (still perfect of it was overcast). The view of the beach was right at our fingertips. We will no doubt stay here again.

Great get away spot
Right on the beach, with the sounds od surf at night. Close to neighbors, so fair amount of foot traffic around house and on beach, but nothing to interfere with our enjoyment.

Great spot on the beach!
This house couldn't be in a better location...right on the beach, and we could still walk for coffee, lunch, or dinner. Kids each got their own rooms. Great for a relaxing beach trip!

Amazing Beach Rental
This house was just perfect. It was very clean, beds are very comfortable, the property manager was super helpful and responsive. The view is very special - right on the sand. 3 nice size bedrooms and 2 that look out over the ocean. We can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Great Oceanfront Home!
Had a wonderful stay at this oceanfront home in Aptos. Highly recommend if you are looking for a getaway in the Santa Cruz area. Clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the outside BBQ and walking up and down the beach. Quiet and safe.

Perfectly located...right on Rio Del Mar beach, short walking distance to Pixie Deli & Venus cafe/restaurant, short drive to other restaurants and grocery stores. Just as described. Access to the beach was perfect; weather this time of year was overcast but not cold. Beach house was comfortable for my husband and I. The place was stocked with great appliances and nice kitchenware and we enjoyed the instant fireplace warmup when needed. Definitely a spot to return to every anniversary!

Awesome beachhouse!
Fabulous location right on Rio Del Mar Beach in Aptos. Comfortable and convenient home with pretty balcony for enjoying the ocean views. Lots of neighbors walking back and forth along the patio but it wasn’t too disruptive. Loved this place!

Great location
The property was great for our family. Walk out your door and 20 feet later your in the sand. The beach was calm, safe and clean. Opening the bedroom slider and falling asleep listening to the ocean was very relaxing. The front walkway beach strip has many people walking and and running up and down the path most of the day. Everyone is polite, friendly and it just has a relaxing beach life vibe. Communication with the owner/manager was great and we hope to return again.

Great house and wonderful get away
We had a great time. The house was in the perfect location and the weather cooperated to give us a once in a lifetime long weekend. The house had lots of amenities and our group of 5 adults had plenty of room to spread out. Everything was as advertised and the owner was responsive and very helpful. Would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful beach getaway
What a pleasure to arrive and find this rental property fully functioning... no faulty outlets, no signs of overabuse from excessive parties. It was pristeen. So charming, you have a locked gate walkway which adds security to the beach. You walk out the back and there's a charming strand walkway with joggers, dog walkers, etc., as you sit at the patio table and say hi as they pass. Eerie and awesome view of a 90 year old shipwreck that has a wonderful history... the SS Palo Alto. Bedrooms upstairs have a balcony with chairs to relax and enjoy the sound of the surf. We enjoyed watching pods of dolphins right off the shoreline as well as an abundance of seabirds and even a seal this is a must do getaway to decompress and get back to nature!

Great location ON THE BEACH
We really enjoyed this house which is right on the beach. We loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the waves. The house had everything we needed to grill fresh fish and enjoy eating out on the patio. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes and utensils. It was a nice touch to have coffee filters, salt and pepper and basic spices. It has a washer/dryer which we didn't use. It was nice to have the fireplace for the chilly evenings, too. We hope to return.

Our family loved having a place with only a few steps to the beach. Inside or out the views where fabulous! We appreciated having paper products provided and two TV’s. We would have preferred a gas grill over charcoal but we made it work. Thanks for a great week at beach!

Great Beach House
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is right on the beach and has great views from inside and out side the house. We now refer to it as The Beach House and hope to stay there again.
