"This rental was clean and spacious in a nice quiet hamlet about 3 km south of Rousillon with free parking. However at first it was difficult to find as the listing shows it in the center of Rousillon. Once we found it and met the owner, she was very responsive despite the fact that we spoke little French and she spoke little English. This owner gives you the option of bringing your own sheets/linens and doing your own cleaning or you are assessed an additional fee. Aside from the two surprises...

"I was told that owner would contact me 2 days before arrival to pay for the room. She did not. I called when I arrived and she was extremely rude and said I did not pay. I paid and got the access needed(which was not easy). The steps in to the room are treacherous at best. Unacceptable."

"The apartment was in a very good location in central old town area. The AC was the best we had in France and appreciated as it was very hot in Aix. Downsides included finding many mosquitos in the apartment (not sure how they were getting in) and a building entryway that was quite unclean. Also, the stairs up to the apartment and slanting floors inside the apartment may not be for everyone."

"We wanted to find a town to just relax in and we picked Aix. It was important to have a comfortable place as we were staying 13 nights. This place was perfect. One block over from rue Mirabeau. No more than 8 min walk to any of main squares in old town. Perfect location to go to all the amazing outdoor markets. And grat local restaurants less. Than five min walk. Only tiny complaint. The couch very uncomfortable a new little solid love seat would be preferable "
