"After we found parking, we checked in- it was easy. The receptionist was friendly. The hotel location is good - in the pretty town centre with good amenities very close by. Room was comfy, basic but had everthing we needed for our 1 night stop over. We slept well but scratching above woke us a few times. (There were visible rats about the area)."

"The Hat het is a loverly picturesque pub/ hotel. Welcome excellent, food and ambiance perfect. VFM good. The thing that let it down was cleanliness of the room- smeared bathroom mirror looked like it was cleaned with a soiled cloth ( had to clean it to see any reflection!) the toilet rim covered in hair & dust & the lamp shades & corners of the room rife with cobwebs. We did enjoy our stay however and we did report the room dissatisfaction to the young service lady but no apology or explanation...

"I arrived on New Years Eve, but the property hadn't warned me that the only food option was a three course meal at £44.50. Similarly on New Years Day, I went early for dinner at 6.15 to be told the kitchen closed at 6. No one had alerted me to the early closure. They did make me some Tapas. If I had known I would have eaten elsewhere before returning to hotel. The food on New Years Day was excellent, I just didn't want to spend that much money. "

"It’s a quiet hotel in a rural area so not exactly ’buzzing’. As it’s an older building with add-ons finding your way to some bedrooms can be a story. It’s all fine, but not exactly a memorable experience. "

"The George Inn was an excellent choice for our first night in England, due to its proximity to Stonehenge and the reasonable cost. All staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a late afternoon walk on the country lanes of Middle Wallop. "I use it to stay weekly for my job. The staff are always smiling and welcoming. Quick to check in and easy leave your key check out in the morning I like having the same room each week (not telling you which one 😉) which they accomodate. Decent services with Fast Food and M&S options and coffee etc. Facilities in my room are great and always a comfortable stay. I do use earplugs as it's by a Motorway but just info for staying and not a criticism "

A night away

"The hotel was reasonable but not outstanding - the room was smaller than expected and it was disappointing that security had parked in the disabled bay which I could have done with using as a blue badge holder. The staff were however friendly and accommodating. The rooms were not as quiet as I would have liked and I was woken twice in the night once by a door being opened and once from snoring and the toilet being used by the room next door. The room would benefit from a desk and chair and free WiFi for the duration of the stay not just 8 hours a day. I would return for pleasure I would not return for business. "

"Always nice at Village Hotels. This was a disabled room, I was fine with that as it was a very nice clean room, however, the furnishing were so spartan, there wasn’t anywhere to put my case or anywhere for my wash bag in the bathroom. The gym on the 1st floor was clearly heard on the 2nd floor."

"The rooms were very nice, the staff were extremely accommodating, going out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was ok. The breakfast room is nice but there were some issues with replenishment of items in busy times. On check out there were some confusions about what had already been paid for via Expedia. It took a little while to sort out. "
