Comfy Lakehouse with amazing Sunset Views on deep water with fully covered dock with electric hook up. NEWLY RENOVATED & upgraded interior. Cruise to Clemson by boat or a 25 minute countryside drive. Ground level Main House contains large open kitchen, family room with plenty of seating, and an extensive list of Dish Network Channels & Dining Room along with Three Bedrooms, & Two Full Bathrooms. Walking out the sliding doors from main floor you will find a 15X15' Screened Porch attached to a 15'X30' deck with great wooded Lake Views. The deck also overlooks a beautiful outdoor fireplace and sitting area with a built in Gas Grill and Wood Smoker for the BBQ of a lifetime. The firepit seating area provides a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Down the back staircase you will find a covered patio and the entrance to a fully finished also newly renovated Basement with One large Bedroom & Full Bathroom, a Built- in Bar, with Full size Fridge, party kitchen, Pool Table, Pop-a Shot game, Dart board and more. A rustic wooded path takes you to the lake where a covered dock sits with west exposure to gain the sunsets after a great day lounging around and on the lake. Lake Hartwell is a great fishing lake where the Bassmaster's tournament is held routinely. Floats & Rafts along with a basketball rim & backboard are attached to the dock for a fun game of hoops in the water. Paddle Boards are available for fun and exercise at the same time. Very peaceful setting in our cove that opens up to great Hartwell views. The house can sleep 8 people easily has pull out couch & air mattress making room for 10 and has plenty of space to have a great time as well !!

Lake house getaway
This house was just the right size for our group of six. The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away. Although we ladies never used the game room, the rest of the house was clean and spacious for our stay. And the family of deer every evening through the side yard is a nice experience.

Inaccurate property description led to disappointment
While this is a lovely spot, the listing description is highly inaccurate. It lists a queen bed but there is only a queen sized wooden platform with a full sized mattress. The other beds had very loud, and squeaky box springs which woke us up all night each time we moved. The pull-out sofa was so uncomfortable with only a one inch mattress that one of us was forced to sleep on the couch each night. The "gentle stroll along a manicured path" to the dock is anything but. It is steep and covered in large roots. Anyone with mobility or respiratory issues can not access the dock. Once at the dock, the wood on the stairs leading down to it is rotting and soft - quite dangerous. The only renovations we could tell inside the house were new flooring and new faucets on the sinks. The rest of the house and trimmings were older and seemed to be more of a manufactured house than stick-built. It also had a pervasive musty smell. Some of the towels available for use were bleach stained. One of the outside tables is rotting and peeling. It seems that the owners fitted the house with whatever they could find cheap at Goodwill and several DIY projects that would have been completed better by a pro. A more accurate description would be a "rustic get-away" with a "wooded, sloped path" to the dock. The overall feel is that this house was setup for their college-aged kids to use without fear of things getting ruined.

Great lake house for the whole family
Our family had a great time at Lake Hartwell. The location and size of this house were excellent for our large group of all ages. We had all the facilities that we needed, the dock was a great bonus! I rated the cleanliness as 3 because the down stairs needs a good deep cleaning. We had a bit of a house keeping issue when we first arrived but the host responded quickly and sent the cleaning service over to handle it.

Overhaul and Upkeep Needed
Let's start out with some positives. Charlie, the host, was very communicative, answered all of our questions and was overall very nice. The dock was absolutely lovely and we enjoyed spending time down by the water. Unfortunately, these are the only positive things I can say about the property. I don't know if due to it being the end of the season but our crew experienced quite a few negatives: 1. Cleanliness: the common spaces were dirty. The ceiling fan in the living room had no less than 2 inches of dust on it and it was absolutely gross. The floors looked like they had never been washed. We had an infant with us that was crawling around and her knees were dark gray by the time she was done. The bedrooms and bathrooms were alright, but would have liked to see them cleaner. The screened in porch had cobwebs everywhere and dust and leaves all over the floor. 2. The patio and stairs: no one went onto the patio cause we were afraid of falling through. The stairs going down to the second level outside and the stairs to the dock were scary to say the least. If you weighed more than 30 lbs, you'd definitely consider these hazardous. 3. Bugs: Near any body of water, bugs are to be expected and they definitely were, but these situations were different. The basement had a millipede infestation. Our friends that stayed down there said they were everywhere. The next bug infestation was moths. Were were sitting on the screened in porch one night and they absolutely swarmed us! yes, you read that right - inside the screened in porch. So bad. Overall we made the best of it and did have a good time, but this property needs an overhaul from the ground up.

The lake is great, but the property dissapoints.
The property is in need of care and repair. In addition to generally being run down, there are some actions needed to insure safety. We let the owner know our concerns and were assured they would be making repairs after the season ended. Also of note is that the upstairs and the downstairs are not connected internally. One must go outside to access the basement bedroom and game room. The cove was wonderful for private swimming and paddle boarding and the owner was responsive to our communication. We had a great time, but we will not rent this property again.

Good boating location
Our family enjoyed our stay. The house needs updating but we knew that when we booked. The game room downstairs and layout of the main floor offered privacy and ample space for our group of 5. The lake was easy to navigate as we spent a week tubing and exploring. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect for the family!
Great spot, great amenities. The kids loved all the paddle boards available at the dock. Upstairs is in perfect shape and very clean, the basement wasn’t the cleanest but we were expecting that. Kids loved the space down in the basement though to play and shoot hoops. A few stairs in need of repair on the deck and the way down to the dock. Would stay again for sure!

Graduation getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this home away from home on the water. Lake life has been an enjoyment for our family. When my youngest son asked us to book a house on the lake so we could celebrate with friends after they graduated from high school, how could we say no. We found this family home through VRBO and decided to book. Mr. Charlie was available anytime we had questions. The house was perfect, and was just as the pictures described. The room below the house was perfect for the guys, and the beds were comfortable throughout the house. The kitchen was the perfect size. There are a few things that could be updated. The power down at the dock was not available, which required us to put air in the tubes at the house. The swing and the wooden post at the dock are worn down, and should be updated. Be careful with the walk down to the dock as there are many roots from trees. All in all we had the best time and would definitely book again in the future. Thank you Mr. Charlie and family for sharing your vacation home!

The house was comfortable and clean. Needs maintenance attention in several areas-wood steps on exterior stairs and stairs to dock area, dock(wood rail and wooden swing are safety hazards), bathroom tiles, a/c stopped cooling the last day. Many of the amenities are in poor condition(pool cues, dart board, fishing gear, paddle boards, etc)

This Lake Hartwell property was perfect for our family. The owners were responsive to all of our inquiries. We had fun in the lake, the playroom, and rented a boat in the marina thanks to the the owners suggestions. We don’t live close but we would do this again in a heartbeat.

Love the layout/space that the house provided. The kids could be in the basement, while the adults enjoyed themselves upstairs. Plenty of room for both! Also, the dock is located in a private cove and we weren’t worried about bothering the neighbors.

Relaxing Family Getaway
Our family enjoyed a short getaway to just unwind. The property owner was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to any questions. The house was shocked with what we needed. The neighborhood was quite and allowed us to relax. We didn't use the dock area and we didn't use the outside fire pit area because it didn't have any cut firewood. Again, it was a short getaway for our family to just relax and it was a good stay for our needs.

Great homely upper floor with a nice basement with lots of amenities. Dock is in a quiet cove but far enough apart that you can still listen to music and grill out without interrupting anyone else’s business. Winter Break at the Lake!
House is nice and comfortable.But in need of a good maintenance and a deep cleaning.Charlie is a great host.He always answered all my messages within a few minutes.Check in was fast and easy.I would like to go back but during the summer.
