The double room with shared bathroom is not recommended. We were expecting it to be outdated but did not expect it to be dusty and dirty. The beds were not very comfortable and unfortunately we got a lot of bug bites overnight. The bathroom is shared, the shower was cold and very weak. There is not a proper door to the bathroom more a screen with a lock so you could hear everything. Also as with much of Jordan smoking inside is allowed so the room smelt extremely strongly of cigarette smoke. However the breakfast was fine and the people working there were friendly.
I didn't expect much from this budget hotel, however the double room in which I stayed was quite repulsive. The biggest problem was with the bathroom, which was not cleaned and had a huge fungus + leakage in the top corner. I had my doubts about the cleanliness of the bed sheets too. There was cold air and rain coming through the balcony door, which was prevented by stuffing bedsheets at the crack between the floor and the door.
The hotel has a nice vibe and helpful staff, however unless some imrpovements are made, I do not recommend it to anyone.
Right downtown, close to everything, walking distance to everything, and great tours with Abusameer. Would go back anytime. Also had a great breakfast.

Got the job done.
It's a decent base of operations. No thrills as all get out, with a metal wire acting as the bathroom door's lock, but for the price and the area, definitely worth a visit. The staff are very friendly too.

Best Location in Madaba, but...
The location of this place can't be beat! However, it wan't the cleanest. I had a bed in a 3-bed room for a night. I left empty bottles by the trash can before leaving. I spent 2 nights in Petra and came back in Madaba for another night, and the bottles were still by the trash can. The people working there are really nice and helpful.
Price was low; room cleanliness and comfort, dubious: I slept in my clothes, on top of the covers with pillows covered with my fleece jacket. The shared bathroom had no assurance of privacy; I didn't use it beyond a quick pee and to brush teeth.
No noticeable odors; that was good.
The heater did a good enough job at keeping temp comfortable.
My host was very friendly and welcoming, and he spoke pretty good English.
