"Just as you come onto the property, just outside the reception is a cobble stone path, where sets of chairs and tables are set up to watch the sunset and drink the wines produced at the nearby vineyard. That was my absolute favorite place to sit as we were celebrating my partner's birthday. Our friends from New York were vegetarians and found loads of options on the farm to table menu on offer for breakfast and dinner. It rained the last 3 days of our trip, cancelling our hot air balloon ride, but the concierge toggled quickly and offered us an array of options including an olive oil tasting. Our guide was a fount of knowledge. Thank you!"

"Who wouldn't want to stay in a cottage at the foot of a castle? This was an AMAZINGLY beautiful hotel on the side of a steep hilltop, right beside a medieval castle. IT was so peaceful and serene! the view out over the valley was breathtaking. It felt like we were at a retreat, in all the best ways. Our room was simple but well equiped, clean and full of character. The electrical connections and wifi met the needs without being intrusive to the character of the room. Breakfast was simple but completely adequate - and it fit in with the character of the property. There was nothing at all that needed to be changed for this property. We would LOVE to go back again and highly recommend it."

"Overall this was an excellent stay for us. Great jumping off point to explore the Alentejo region. Is as listed, very homey and comfortable. The only issue we had was check in. Once this was resolved, Paola was wonderful."

"This is a beautiful, peaceful hotel. The rooms are large, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff are wonderful. It would serve perfectly as a retreat and invites meditation. There are no TVs in the rooms, but there's a big TV in a common room. The building also houses artwork and small museums. It's a bit isolated. The restaurant wasn't open the night we were there, but we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant 700 meters away. You can also go to the castle for dinner. The hotel breakfast was wonderful. "
