Every detail has been carefully considered to create a modern yet homely stay—ideal for exploring the Lakes and returning to your own private haven.

The Space:
Tucked just off Compston Road in central Ambleside, this unique apartment is full of character, comfort, and unexpected charm. Set within the former village Sorting Office, the property still carries a sense of its original purpose, most notably in the strikingly high vaulted ceilings, which flood the space with light and lend a wonderful sense of openness throughout.

The generous open-plan living area is perfect for both relaxing and socialising. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need whether you’re whipping up a quick breakfast before heading out or preparing a more indulgent meal at home.

There are two spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room, offering privacy and flexibility, making the apartment ideal for couples sharing, families, or a small group of friends.

And with a designated parking space included, you can arrive and explore with ease, leaving the car behind while you enjoy everything Ambleside has to offer on foot.

The Neighborhood:
Ambleside is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park and is the go to destination for the best the Lake District has to offer.

There is an abundance of walks directly from the doorstep as well as activities on Lake Windermere, Englands Largest Lake.

The property is in the centre of the village, close to all shops and restaurants. Further afield some of the UK's most respected restaurants are easily accessible via vehicle or public transport.

Getting Around:
The property has parking for one car so you are able to park here guaranteed for the duration of your stay.

The property is on a major bus route and Windermere station is just a 15min journey away.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that although the apartment itself is on one level, there is a series of steps in order to access the property's private entrance.

We Live locally - we are available at anytime and happy to offer any advice regarding how to make the best of your Lake District Stay. We are keen walkers and enjoy dining out in the many restaurants in the local area. We operate a self check in service, details of which will be sent two days prior to arrival.

Great location and property

We stayed 3 nights and it was excellent! Located in the heart of the Ambleside downtown we were closed to restaurants/bars/shopping. The property was exactly how the pictures showed-lots of space, modern, and clean.

Perfect Stay!

The Sorting Office was perfect for two couples for 3 days exploring Ambleside. The location is incredible and the apartment has everything you need. Check in after 4pm was quite late, but the process was super easy. If we didn't have a 24 hour journey to get there from Australia we'd be booking again asap! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
