Description
Acquamarina is part of the Dimora Artistica complex: a beautiful villa made of four apartments, terraced gardens and a small independent farmhouse situated amidst citrus groves. This villa is probably one of the most charming and panoramic villas in the whole Amalfi Coast. Built at the end of XIX century, stand out like a jewel in Pastena, a little hamlet of Amalfi. After the recent restoration, it has been divided in four wonderful flats and a farmhouse, with a special attention at the conservation of the original areas and at the protection of the privacy for all the guests. The flats are different-sized, from 2 to 8 sleeping accommodation, to meet every requirement of our guests. A wonderful lemon grove stand above the villa like a tiara; there is also a biological vegetable garden put at guests disposal, who can use the well-equipped kitchens to have a dinner with a dream panorama. The Villa has 5 levels: the ground floor at the street level, the mezzanine, the first floor with the main garden level and then the second and third floors. The main entrance is at Street level, where is also placed the elevator which allows the access to all the properties. On the Mezzanine level are the Lounge, the Reception Office, and the Ametista apartment, while on the first floor there are Opale and Iris apartments, as well as the main garden level. All along this level, a wonderful panoramic balcony belongs to these two apartments. The biggest apartment, Smeraldo, occupies the whole second floor, while at the third floor there is Acquamarina, the private residence. On the rooftop is a magnificent sunbathing terrace with breathtaking views. The 4 apartments, ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms, have been constructed with maximum attention to reciprocal privacy and tranquillity, and respect for the original ambience. Using selected period furnishings, paintings and other decorations of the family, the idea was to recreate the atmosphere of an aristocratic house of the last century. The result is an exciting blend of understated elegance, contemporary light and colour, and sensitivity to tradition. The grounds and gardens of Dimora Artistica are an integral part of the overall heritage of the property. Aside from the main garden level (the “hanging garden”), there are seven terraces that at one time were cultivated entirely in citrus groves. Only the four lower terraces are still intact, but stand as a testament to the culture of the Amalfi Coast region and the relationship of its people to their land. Acquamarina is the charming farmhouse part of the complex, beyond the four apartments, positioned on the grounds of Dimora Artistica. It is reachable thanks to a stone staircase of about 100 steps that, from the main garden level, leads the guest up to the front door of this building. The property stands out for its privacy, tranquillity, and, most of all, for its breath-taking view. The ground floor is constituted by a wide living room, which is also the dining area and the kitchen, while, on the upper level, there are two bedrooms, a double one and one with twin beds. There are also two bathrooms, of which one is with shower and one is with tub.
