"Small maintenance problem almost every room I booked. My husband and I stayed 805. Didn't use the kitchen sink but was leaking every day. Water was all over on the countertop. Another room 1005 my friend stayed, balcony door has at least a finger wide gap. Wind was hauling some of the nights. These are small maintenance fixing. Easy to fix problems. Otherwise everybody were happy. I booked 5 rooms."

"Food was beyond excellent. The hotel was beautiful. The room was clean. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. My only small disappointment was there was no hot tub. There was a cold tub outside of the gym. I am not sure if that was supposed to be a hot tub and it was just broken or not? Would definitely stay here again. The property is beautiful and well kept. Amazing sunsets every single night. Parking was very easy which was refreshing considering parking elsewhere in Portugal has been difficult. I also liked the location. It wasn't difficult to get to other parts of Algarve. "

"Our 2 night stay at the Penina was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Every member of the team were so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, the grounds and facilities at the pool were wonderful. The food in the Henry Cotton restaurant was excellent. We played tennis and the golf course was amazing and excellent value. We would definitely recommend and we are already planning to return to the Penina next year. "Would recommend staying on a b&b basis if you are mobile. There are lots of fabulous restaurants a 10-15 minute walk away (or a 5 minute taxi ride). This hotel is a great base for lovely walks along the boardwalk. Staff are great, breakfast is ample and certainly covers everything. Rooms are comfortable and clean. I would stay here again."
