"This hotel is great choice if you are looking to be in a walkable area. The Sound of Music tour is a 3 min walk away and the old town is about 6 or 7 minutes. The room was clean but a little spartan. The staff are great. Breakfast was a little expensive. We ended up eating at a great takeout place across the street where you can get good coffee, rolls, fruit, yogurt, and sandwiches. "

"My husband, my almost 4-year-old, and I stayed in a city flat. It was a very lovely room with lots of space for everyone. My in-laws stayed in a more standard room and were very pleased with the size of the room and the bathroom. All staff (reception, restaurant, and cleaning staff) were very helpful and pleasant. The building was charming with many of interesting, old features mixed with modern elements. The location was also perfect- next to the bus stop to go to the airport and right in the heart of the old town. If back in Salzberg, I would definitely stay here again. The entire family had nothing but good things to say about this hotel. "

"The room for four was big with lots of space. The staff was great and very helpful. This hotel is a very short walk away from the Christmas markets and the shopping. My only issue is getting to the hotel if you are in a car. You have to put up to a barricade system, push a button with Weisse Taube written next to it. I was looking for "ALTSTADTHOTEL" and not "Weisse Taube". When you hit the button they give you a 7 digit code to enter that lowers the barricade system and you drive into the city. This code changes every hour. You drive down some narrow roads to the hotel and park the best you can to unload. Then you check in and have to drive your car back outside of the downtown area using that code to get past another barricade system. You circle the block coming back to the area of the original barricade system and they have a parking garage on your right. The parking garage is not for the faint of heart... it's TIGHT. You get parked and then walk the 10 minutes back to the hotel. Checking out is the same process to get your car back to the hotel to load back up. The location of this hotel makes it all worth it. You care 150-200 feet from the start of the Christmas Markets and shops. "
