Relaxing and enjoyable stay at quaint cottage with great views and quiet neighborhood ...reminds us of how the lake use to be with cottages ...easy access to food and supplies at Alton
The cottage is rustic but has modern updates which makes your stay enjoyable. The water is crystal clear for swimming and the docks are great for reading & enjoying the water. The location is far enough away from "downtown" Alton but close enough for convenience. We will definitely be back !
I couldn't fault this property or the property manager. The location is glorious and the property is extremely well maintained and managed. The property manager was responsive, friendly and went out of her way to help us. There may be some larger properties in the area, but we didn't think any could match the location of this one. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location; close enough to Alton but in a quiet neighborhood. Lake water was clean & clear every day. The speed boats don't come too close as it's a bit rocky, which is great as it keeps the noise down. The cottage is quaint and clean and offers all you need for a vacation. It's obvious, the cottage is well cared for - the dock and screened in porch are fantastic.
Great place to stay, just feet from the water. Owners are very responsive and have taken great care of the property both inside and out.
The stone fire place inside is the focal point of this cabin and great to have on cool days and nights.
The dock is big and in the sun all day so is a great place to sit and watch nature. Loons eagles ducks woodpeckers and all sorts of other birds are around all day.
Being south facing we enjoyed both sunrise and sunsets every day.
Thanks for a great vaca. And hope to be back next year!!
Amazing stay, magical little spot, immaculate, rustic charm with a spacious feel. Beyond some minor updates/ evolvements, the cottage and property are ideal. The cottage is nestled between newer and much larger properties. These homes are impressive, yet at times too grand for the space they take up. Amanda’s cottage is situated appropriately, keeping the natural space around it in mind, the history of the land and the old world feel alive. Although there are neighbors to either side, the feeling of privacy is paramount. I hope that this cottage, with the exception of minor improvements over the years, remains as is. To see another monster structure erected in its place would undo the charm it has. My wife and I will be back. It was truly a beautiful and contented stay.
To start off, Harold’s Camp is everything it was advertised and then some! It truly is a special place.
We want to describe the feel and vibe of the cabin but it is hard to put into words without ruining the first impression you will get walking in, and that is something you should see for yourself. The sights and smells transport you back to a simpler time when life was a bit slower and not so tech. It’s the perfect space to unplug, unwind, and get back to the basics.
The views of the lake are spectacular with plenty of boats to watch during the day, the loons are plentiful in the evenings and mornings here, with quiet sunrises and sunsets. Even the thunderstorms were awesome to watch from the porch. The cabin itself is amazingly clean, the property well kept, and the neighbors not too close…so you actually feel like you’re at a camp and not a subdivision.
For those of you bringing boats the dock is excellent. Water is plenty deep enough water and even though there is boat traffic, it doesn’t beat your boat up with the direction they are going. Amanda was very helpful, and answered any questions we had.
We 100% recommend you stay here…not one bad thing to say.
We had a totally perfect experience at Harold’s Camp. The lake was beautiful and the house was so nicely set up for our stay. We could not have asked for a better place to rent on Winnipesaukee.
Wow! This couldn’t have been any more perfect of a cabin for our first visit to Lake Winnipesaukee. Located in Woodlands Cove, we were tucked away in a quiet community with friendly neighbors. I was looking for a quintessential NH lake house with some history and I found it. This cute little cabin hasn’t changed much over the years and that’s what makes it so special. There was plenty of outdoor space to bbq, roast marshmallows over the campfire and enjoy the moonlight on the water.
Amanda was super responsive and helpful before and during our stay. We highly recommend this cabin.
We rented the house for my dad's 70th birthday for a fishing trip and the location couldn't have been more perfect. Plenty of parking, easy access to a large dock and a firepit right next to the water. Will be back here some day hopefully.

Awesome cottage to spend a week on Lake Winnipesuakee!
Awesome rustic cottage in a nice area of Alton Bay right on
the water, we enjoyed the gas fire placed living room, the screened in porch and the outside seating area's along with
the fire pit. The dock is big and sturdy and worked great for
our boat. Thank you Amanda for a wonderful week.

This little cabin was the perfect place for our relaxing fall getaway. It's rustic charm paired with modern amenities made us never want to leave - not to mention the incredible lakeview and dock! 5 Stars!
Our family of 4 wanted to do a short weekend trip on the lake before the cold temps hit. This cottage was fantastic and had a rustic feel but with modern amenities. The location was amazing as well as the dock and view! We utilized the propane grill and fire pit at night. There are some great restaurants a few miles down the road that were very good. Laconia is close by for more activities as well. Overall we’ve been to New Hampshire countless times and we will certainly remember this trip! Highly recommended.
