"We were expecting a simple, quiet cabin in the woods for a brief get away. Although listings often use flowery adjectives like luxurious and cozy, this one was truly a standout. High-end kitchenware, unique and regionally appropriate decor and art, leather furniture, a Pendleton wool blanket for the couch and so much more made us immediately feel like a welcomed guest at a friend’s home. It was perfect!"

"We rented this cabin so we could meet up with our granddaughter (from Nashville area) to do some hiking. It was perfect for us! We were easily able to drive to Giant City for hiking and dinner. We also drove a bit further to hike at Tunnel Hill and Cache River State park. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils. Even though there were several cabins around us, we felt like we had plenty of privacy. We'll definitely be staying here...

"We booked this cabin for an anniversary weekend getaway. Everything about the cabin was perfect! We enjoyed the trail behind the canin. We also enjoyed hiking at nearby, Giant City State Park. Southern Illinois is beautiful in the fall. We hope to be back and highly recommend to others."

"Beautiful wooded area, quiet and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and cute. The outside area had all yoy needed, firepit, chairs, and lights pathway to hotutb that felt amazing on the cooler nights. Definitely recommend, had the best stay! "

"I have nothing but gushing reviews for my Makanda Cabin stay. The cabin was easy to navigate to. When I opened the door I found a clean, comfortable, well appointed place, with two good size bedrooms, living room with fireplace, a bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and soap. There was a basket full of treats on the kitchen table. Hangers were in the closets, luggage rack and lots of shelves to organise wedding and hiking clothing. I could truly relax there. Allison, the property manager, provides a wealth of information for local attractions, restaurants, and various other interests. We are already talking about our next trip to Tulipwood."

"So many good things about this house- great location, so cute, stocked with snacks. My two complaints are 1) the furniture. The couch and chairs are flaking leather, and it’s all over the floors. You can’t lay on the couch, the flakes get everywhere then. I found them in the bed, in my hair… I think that needs to be taken care of. 2) we found a dead mouse in a trap under the couch. Really wish that would have been checked and dealt with before we got there. All in all, I do recommend this house...

"Hubby and I wanted a few days away with our senior rescue pup. We were looking to unwind and this place was perfect. This cottage has an amazing back deck, hot tub and large back yard. Kitchen had everything we needed. We picked the perfect time of year to see all the fall foliage. Definitely recommend!"
