Perfect little house in the heart of Alnwick
We had a great week staying in this lovely cosy house in the heart of Alnwick. The house is comfortable and stylish, well equipped and beautifully furnished. Very warm in a cold November. We made use of the fire on a couple of evenings which was great. We were a couple but there is plenty of room for four. Bed was very comfortable and lots of space for clothes etc. The bathroom was also good - nice shower and lovely to have a bath as well for a soak after long walks! Kitchen had everything you could need (apart from a cafetière!). We had a lovely week exploring this beautiful area - went to Cragside, Hulne Park, Alnwick gardens, Lindisfarne, Craster (yummy kipper pate from the SmokeHouse and great crab sandwiches and kipper scotch eggs in the Jolly Fisherman), Dunstaburgh castle, boat trip to see the seals on the Farne islands and lots of beautiful walks. We also went out in the evenings in Alnwick and had nice meals at the Market Tavern, Mumbai Flavours and Thai Vibe (specially recommend this place). And we had lovely homemade pies from Turnbulls and excellent fish and chips from Carlo’s. Thoroughly recommend the house, Alnwick and the area as a whole.
