Taylor Canyon Cabin in Almont

Our cabin is nestled on the side of a mountain just off CR 742, approximately 2 miles from 3rivers resort. About 12 miles to Gunnison and about 15 miles to the town of Crested Bute. There are many places to experience first class fishing guided or unguided along CR 742. White water rafting and kayaking are a must in the summertime. Hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and atv riding available for your outdoor adventurers.
Watch the bighorn sheep pass by in the morning/evening and bald eagles fly by throughout the day. This property sits on 16 acres that borders BLM land.
The cabin itself offers private balconies or entrances for each room along with separate en-suite bathrooms. “UPDATE master suite has privacy door, dining table has been replaced with a 10’ table with chairs.”
The kitchen has plenty of room to cook for two or a crowd. It is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences a kitchen should offer. Coffee bar includes a drip coffee maker and an espresso machine.
Dining and family room include a queen sleeper sofa, love seat, arm chair and a table for 8-10 Extra folding tables and chairs if needed. The main deck offer a gas grill, ample seating, sunrises and sunsets to die for.
The game room is spacious it includes a queen sleeper sofa a full handicap accessible bathroom with a transfer type shower. Ping pong table, foosball table and large flat screen tv.
Garage offers one bay (2nd bay reserved for owner) heated. Extra storage shed along driveway for guest use.

Outstanding stay
A group of 5 senior fishermen stayed at this property the last two years and I would highly recommend the cabin. Well appointed, exceptional location to fishing, clean, and a very responsive contact. Everything you need for a great adventure in Almont.

This was the most wonderful place we've ever stayed. Was so impressed with the cabin; the look, the woodwork, the layout, the amenities. Would love to find a piece of this heaven on my own. Would recommend anyone to stay there. We loved it! It was just beautiful!

When using VRBO the best thing one can say is that the property was exactly as described and that was true for us. Outstanding location, views, and amenities. Always good to have a fully stocked kitchen, quality linens, and very clean. Look forward to a return visit.

Nice lodge-style home conveniently located to Almont, CO.
Modestly appointed log cabin with great patio area conveniently located to town of Almont. It is a nice home with everything you might need for a basic stay. Just make sure you don't mind road noise as it is located directly on the highway and you will feel the cars and trucks pass by.

Wonderful home with something for everyone
The house has a unique layout which worked well for our family. The kitchen was great and was stocked with everything and then some. Ping pong table and other games were an added bonus, and great views from the deck in the mornings and evenings. Loved it!

Beautiful home
There were a few hiccups at the start, but the owner fixed everything quickly. My family really enjoyed the house. Plenty of room to spread out. The property is a little tricky to find at night.

Wonderful property and great location!
This property was a great place to stay, convenient to Gunnison and Crested Butte. Everything we wanted to do - fishing, hiking, ATV's, rafting was close. We had a wifi challenge but the owner was great about communication. House was extremely clean, beds were comfortable, lots of hot water, kitchen was great with all the dishes and utensils we needed. The ping pong table was well used for our daily tournaments! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend.

A lovely property located between Crested Butte and Gunnison.
This was a guys trip to enjoy the fishing and dirt bike riding in the area. The home met our needs completely. The location was exactly what we were looking for. Seeing the mountain goats while fishing across the street was a real treat. The home was clean and well suited for our group and the property manager made access easy and was a pleasure working with! Thank you to the home owners for sharing with us!

Almont for fun
Lovely, spacious home! Big enough for parking our motorcycle trailer. Nice size bedrooms with comfortable mattresses. Kitchen was well-stocked. Location worked for us to go up to Taylor Lake, over to Crested Butte, groceries in Gunnison & short trip to Lake City. Want to stay here next August!! With adult kids!

Almont family trip
This was our second visit. We love the location & house feels cozy. We enjoyed dinner on patio & saw mule deer! It was well-stocked & organized in the kitchen. Laundry room provided tons of towels. Like having use of garage also. Wish each bedroom had door for privacy.

Beautiful cabin!
The cabin and area are beautiful. There was plenty of room for our family and two dogs. It was very dog friendly and well equipped. The master bed and bath were awesome! There are lots of stairs. We had enough propane to almost finish our dinner the first night, and it was apparently our responsibility to get and pay for a refill. Communication with the host, once we were there, was rather slow, but overall, this is a wonderful place. We had a great time.

Perfect for multiple families
Stayed here recently with some friends and their families for a OHV trip to Taylor Park. The cabin was great for our large group and had plenty of parking for our 3 trucks and trailers. The lower part of the driveway was perfect for when we wanted to drop the trailers and take off to dinner in Gunnison or just do some sightseeing. The kids loved staying in the game room, so much that we rarely saw them when we were home. You could hear the Taylor river from the deck and we even got to see 4 bighorn sheep roaming the hillside one night.

Great home
Great, peaceful home. We ate half our meals out on one of the decks. The foosball and ping pong brought hours and hours of fun. Fishing on the river more or less gas to be via boat. The river was moving too fast to fish or wade. Kitchen was stocked and plenty big for the four of us. Fantastic and would totally stay here again!

Crested Butte/Almont Family Fun
Excellent location to enjoy canyon in Almont-mtn biking, fishing and whitewater rafting. Great location to load up on groceries in Gunnison and close to Crested Butte. Went to Black Canyon, mtn biked Doctor Park, Rafted with 3 Rivers Resort, rented a SUP took up to lake Irwin, hiked Oh Be Joyful, mtn biked Snodgrass trail and enjoyed yoga on the cabin deck! The week went by way too fast. Such a great house for our family!!! Thank you so much!

Nice enough
Nice property, very strangely laid out, basically 2 homes connected by a breezeway. One of the beds mentioned in the ad is a mattress to lay on the floor. No propane in the grill, which was FILTHY. Had to take the grill apart to clean to be able to use it. Overall the house was clean, large deck, but with very limited seating.

Great location
The house was perfect for three small families. The house is divided and you can close the door to close off one side which has a large media/game room with two pull out couches. On that side of the house is also a bedroom with multiple beds. The other side with the main living room and kitchen has a bed up in the loft upstairs and a bed in the basement. All three major bedrooms have a balcony or patio and their own bathroom. We had three vehicles and two trailers for UTVs in the driveway had plenty of room. There's even a spot to unhook the UTV trailers down at the bottom of the hill.
