"Booked this as a first visit to Whitby. It was a little out of town but suited our needs & price range for one night. We booked a family room & it seemed a standard room with extra beds in it but still spacious enough for a night. The bed wasn’t that comfortable but it was convenient having the pub/restaurant next door. "Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Ate in the bar & enjoyed a nice meal, friendly staff in bar area. It was not warm enough to sit in the garden but in warmer weather there were plenty of tables outside in a nice spacious garden. Hotel is situated away from the centre of whitby but is very handy for the park & ride bus service which works out much cheaper than using the town car parks. "

"Lovely little traditional pub with rooms. The room I was in was very cosy, but had plenty of space. Really comfortable bed and also a chair to enjoy a relaxing sit down and a cup of tea. Some noise from the bar on the Friday evening, but not going on until very late. Good, locally sourced breakfast and friendly staff."

"Very friendly staff in this pub with rooms located in a peaceful village setting outside the hustle and bustle of Whitby. Very good food, brilliant breakfast and a grand pot of tea. Local doorstep walks and a super walk into Whitby for those fit and active. A great find. Hope to visit again."
