"The staff don't speak or understand Catalan, the main language in the area. They charge extra 25€ fee to clean the room when you come with a pet (little or middle size. Big size dogs are not allowed), but the room, initially, was extremely dirty. The floor was full of dust and hair from other guests (nobody cleaned that room the past two months. "We stayed in the older less expensive side of the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Read a lot of negative reviews prior to foing but feel the room was amazing value for money. Hotel grounds and pool are fabulous! Amazing breakfast and lovely helpful staff throughout."

"The room and all spaces I passed by were very clean. I liked the idea of not wasting water and not changing towels so often. The spa was amazing. It was a very relaxing stay. The hotel has a luxurious feel, like more than 3 stars. I definitely recommend people to go above all for the spa. It is totally worth it. And have breakfast at the hotel. So many tasty choices. "

"The apartment exceeded our expectations; we were in the “Blue Room” on the first floor which had a huge balcony stretching round two sides of the building and looking over the pool. The owner was extremely pleasant and helpful and made us feel welcome. The private car park was a bonus. A very good base from which to explore Girona, about half an hour’s drive away through very attractive countryside."

"Well, what can I say? We certainly did not expect to arrive at El Ranxo and be SO blown away by the place. Not only in a beautiful location, but the property itself was idyllic! "Wonderful property that's close to old town site seeing but not loud that can happen if you're in the middle of everything. Being on top of the hill has the advantage of best place to see the city below and sunset from the beautiful roof top terrace over the mountains on the other side of the city. The location also can make it a bit difficult to walk bach to hotel as other reviews have noted. It's not that bad and if needed you can stop to catch your breath on one of the walls. It is a very short walk to the shops and restaurants down in the old town area. Everything was well cared for and clean. They have an online restaurant and bar so you don't need to head down again if you want to stay there in the evening. Area seems safe and is residential so no need to worry about being out late at night. Highly recommend this modern friendly hotel!"
