Cider House at Oosland Barns - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

The Cider House is a red brick barn that has recently been converted from a grain store into a cosy and comfortable, sleeps-4 holiday home that sits alongside the Combine Shed, another Oosland Barns holiday let. The cottage is set in a gravel courtyard at the centre of a working arable farm, just half a mile from the River Avon and the pretty village of Bidford-upon-Avon.

The barns and the fields around the Cider House were purchased by the owner's family in the 1960s. In the 1980s the barns became grain stores, and the courtyard in front of the cottage was covered over with large steel bins for extra grain storage. In 2012, the grain barns were converted, and the grain store was taken down, and the full conversion to Oosland Barns Holiday Lets was completed in 2015.

Inside, the cottage is decorated in a neutral, country-cottage style and comfortably accommodates four guests, with a very spacious and welcoming open-plan kitchen-dining-living area with a log burner and two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a family bathroom – all on one floor so ideal for guests with limited mobility. (Please note, that there are two steps up to the front door).

Ground Floor

Kitchen-Dining Area-Living Area:
The open-plan kitchen, dining area and living area is a super spacious room with a double-height ceiling and exposed, original A-frame timbers, and a welcoming woodburning stove. It is light and bright with windows looking out to the side and rear garden. The fully equipped Kitchen has an integrated washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, electric cooker and electric hob. To one side of the Kitchen is a rectangular table that comfortably seats four guests.

At the far end of this room is the Living Area, with two large leather-effect sofas, a coffee table, smart TV, a desk for guests on a workation, a bookcase storing games, maps, and books, and a lovely woodburner, which will be set ready for you to light on arrival. A door leads out from the Living Area to the garden and patio.

Bedroom 1:
The pretty main bedroom in the Cider House looks out over the rear garden and has a high ceiling with exposed beams. The bedroom is decorated with accents of pink and is furnished with a standard double bed with bedside tables and reading lamps, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2:
This cosy second bedroom also looks out over the rear garden. The bedroom is decorated with accents of blue and is furnished with two single beds, a central bedside table and reading lamp, a chest of drawers with a mirror, and wall hooks with hangers for hanging up clothes.

Family Bathroom:
The family bathroom features a full-size bath, with a shower over, a toilet, a basin with a vanity unit with a mirror and shaver point, and a heated towel rail. The tiled floor has underfloor heating.

Outside

To the side and rear of the cottage is a large, fenced garden, with a lawn, hot tub, patio, and picnic table, which looks out across the surrounding farmland. The garden is dog-friendly/dog-proof (unless your dog can jump above waist height). Guests with dogs are welcome to walk them around the surrounding farmlands (please stick to the outside if the field is planted). There is parking for 2 cars beside the cottage through a small gate. A charcoal BBQ is provided - please bring your own supply of fuel.

Cider House, Oosland Barns review
Had a lovely long weekend at cider House. Perfect location for us for visiting Stratford and the Cotswolds and lovely walking down the river in Bidford-on-Avon. Everything you could need in the accomodation and the hot tub was great .

Great Stay
Had a lovely couple of days in the Cider Barn. Lovely lodgings, and the hot tub was a real plus. Easy access to Stratford-upon-Avon, with some nice country pubs close by.

Perfect stay
Beautiful conversion, fully equipped with everything we needed. We used the hot tub and the extra touches with dressing gowns, flip flops and beach towels were a lovely luxury. Great location with lovely views and privacy. Highly recommend.

Perfect!
Perfect location to visit Cotswolds and Stratford. We booked 3 cottages and each one had everything we needed down to flip flops and robes for the hot tubs! Would definitely recommend and would book again. Thank you

Perfect short break.
Cider House was exactly what we needed to explore Stratford Upon Avon, just a short drive away. The house was clean, comfortable and fully equipped. We loved using the hot tub and were grateful for the flip flops, towels and dressing gowns provided. The owners left us to enjoy our selves and there was no need to contact them as the provided information was detailed. Would love to stay here again sometime.

Lovely property with hot tub!
We had a lovely stay in this property, it has everything needed for a relaxing break. We made the most of the hot tub even in November, and the log burner was great to keep us warm and cosy in the evenings. The provision of towelling robes, extra towels and flip flops when using the hot tub was really appreciated. The location is great for exploring the north of the Cotswolds and Stratford on Avon. The nearest village at Bidford on Avon has a lovely cafe in the centre and walks along the river Avon.

Weekend with pals
Lovely property in a nice part of the world. Close to a village with a couple of pubs and shops. Also, picnic benches along the riverside to while away an afternoon. the property was lovely, as described. Had all that we needed for the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

Lovely base for the cotswolds
Really nice little cottage, located within easy reach of the cotswolds. House was clean, tidy and very well equipped. We did find an ear plug on the floor of the bedroom though but it was no problem. The house was excellent with a dog, and had plenty of outdoor space for him to run around, and he was a huge fan of the logburner! Hot tub was really nice and enjoyable aswell. All in all a great place to stay, and would go again.

Lovely short stay at the Cider House
Nice property, larger than you would expect from the photos. Garden was great for the dog and fully enclosed.Property was very comfortable and the hot tub was a nice touch, just a shame we only stayed 2 nights. Overall the property was clean but we did find the oven, grill pan and some cutlery hadn't been cleaned. Really enjoyed our stay and would like to return for a little longer next time.

Comfy Cider Barn
Enjoyed our short break at the Cider Barn Lovely hot tub! Great Location! Great enclosed garden, which our Basset hound fully enjoyed playing in. Ideal for my elderly mother with mobility issues, being all on one level. Only a few issues, shame no milk, when we arrived as there was tea, coffee, sugar provided. I did find the mattress on the Double Bed quite uncomfortable, a King Size bed would have been nicer. Also being on a farm the road down to the barn was full of large pot holes which you have to try and navigate around! Overall we all did have a very relaxing stay.

Lovely place in a great location
We had a great long weekend in the barn. The location is perfect - just half a mile up the road, with a path all the way, to Bidford which has plenty of places to eat or get a take away. The barn was nicely furnished with everything we needed and very comfortable. The hot tub was an added bonus as we were able to reduce the temperature and use it to cool down given the scorching weather. The garden was dog secure and large enough for our border terrier to let off steam in the evening once the temperature had dropped. We have already started looking for when we can come back!!

AWESOME ACCOMODATION OF A VERY HIGH STANDARD IN LOVLEY LOCATION
THE ACCOMODATION AS ALWAYS WAS AWESOME WE ALWAYS LOVE STAYING HERE AS IT WORKS PERFECTLY FOR US VISITING FAMILY AND FRIENDS. COUPLE OF CHATS WITH OWNER RESOLVED ANY ISSUES AS THEY SUPER HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THAT THE GRASS IS CUT BEFORE NEW RESIDENTS COME IN AS IT WAS VERY PRICKLY AND THE DOGS AND CHILDREN HAD A FEW PRICKED FEET. I KNOW THIS DOES DEPEND ON WEATHER THOUGH THANK U AGAIN FOR MAKING US SO WELCOME AND HOPEFULLY SEE U ALL NEXT YEAR AGAIN

A short chillout stay at a warm and cosy Cider House
We booked the Cider House very last minute for a short chillout break before Christmas, The house was clean and tidy and had all the utensils and appliances needed for a self catering stay. The TV was actually larger than shown in the website pictures and is a smart TV complete with streaming apps. The hot tub was great to sit in and gaze at the stars each evening and then back to sit in front of the log burner which provided a warm and cosy atmosphere to relax on the comfortable settees. The main bedroom has plenty of storage and a good size double bed. We found the mattress to be a bit too firm for us, but this is just our preference and we still slept ok. The location of Cider house is great for walks, a pavement along the road gives good access to Bidford village, about a10 minute walk. From there we did a 4 mile circular walk along part of the river Avon and around the edge of the horse gallops, some good views from up there. We would have given full marks but a couple of small things that could be improved on, there were no matches or lighter for the log burner, the TV remote batteries were flat and a bulb blown in the bedside lamp. But overall we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Cider house.

One week stay end of July
Nice barn conversion. As always easier to think of what wasn’t quite right but there was a lot which was right. for some reason could only get BBC channels on the TV, thankfully I was able to use my Netflix subscription. Very high roof space, noticeable cobwebs. High above. Would need a duster on an extendable pole to reach. Shower head needed changing, it sprayed water in pretty much every direction and could not be adjusted. There was a beetle issue, they came out only in the dark, mainly from under the bath, about an inch long. Removed about thirty during our stay. One small area of shelf with glasses on it had been missed in the cleaning process, had quite a few small dead flies on it. But all said we would stay again, the hot tub was great!

Property nice but not great customer service by bolthole
Initially disappointed in the customer service at Bolthole We had a couple of issues with our supposed weekend away. To find someone in our property on arrival. To find the property was then not fully available to us until the next day and also trouble with the hot water not working which my HUSBAND actually sorted with a plumber over the phone. Bolthole spoke to the owner and it was 'apparently, resolved quickly they aren't prepared to compensate in any way. We paid good money for a property with a hot tub it was the only reason we booked it. We could not use this the first night as it wasn't ready as the owner said she wasn't aware of our booking. We also had someone working from 'home,' in there on my arrival. I really dont think this is acceptable in any way. The owner should have offered something other than an apology. Bolthole however in the end did compensate. The property itself was lovely. I would of preferred mind to have a property which was freshly cleaned and nobody in there on arrival!

Great place
Nice property, lovely outlook, hot tub was great. However, on arrival there was evidence of previous renters and windows could have been cleaned over, the tin opener doesn’t work, heating is not straight forward and there was no guide and the recycling system should be made clearer with separate bins.

AWESOME ACCOMODATION OF A VERY HIGH STANDARD IN LOVLEY LOCATION
WE HAVE STOPPED AT CIDER HOUSE A NUMBER OF TIMES NOW AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PLEASURE. LOVLEY LOCATION AND AWESOME ACCOMODATION WITH THOSE LITTLE EXTRA TOUCHES LIKE BATH ROBES IN EACH ROOM FOR USE IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THE HOT TUB. THERE ARE SHOWER CAPS, SHAMPOO, SHOWER/BATH GEL ALL FOR YOUR USE AND WONDERFUL FLUFFY TOWELS. AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE YOU CAN MAKE YOURSELF A CUP OF COFFEE OR TEA AS THESE ARE ALL PROVIDED AS WELL AS MILK IN THE FRIDGE!! ONLY RECOMMENDATION I WOULD MAKE IS AN UMBRELLA FOR THE TABLE AND CHAIRS OUTSIDE. THE GARDEN IS DOG FRIENDLY AND ENSURES THE LITTLE FUR BABIES CANNOT ESCAPE SO ANOTHER STRESS TAKEN AWAY. THE OWNER IS EASILY CONTACTABLE AND NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL DEFINATELY BE STAYING AGAIN

Quiet hideaway, ideal location.
If you are after a comfortable retreat away from noise and light pollution this is ideal. Two double sofas and a large modern TV passed away the evenings and the hot tub is superb. An ideal location central to walks and the beautiful surroundings. The cottage would benefit from a more thorough clean however and was 'welcomed' with a slight damp dog smell. Overall happy to recommend a stay here assuming the owners react to the above

The perfect romantic getaway
This was a lovely getaway. The privacy in the hot tub was better than I expected and the views when sitting in the hot tube were very peaceful. The house itself was lovely and it was only a short walk into the village for an evening dinner and drink. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful, private getaway

Hot tub and views
A beautiful location to look out to at all times of day. The sun shines on the garden all day. The hot tub was lovely and a definite winner for our stay there. Sitting in the hot tub of an evening watching the moon come up and the stars come out was fabulous. The barn was very warm and the sofas were very comfy. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay for all the family
Great cottage. Both Kids and adults loved the hot tub. Nice and close (walking distance) to a lovely pub and great Chinese. Only negative from our stay was that the double bed wasn’t Overly comfortable. Cottage is set in a lovely complex of 5 cottages.

Lovely summer stay
This is the first time we have stayed in this property and its a lovely place, very quiet (which we love) Lovely and clean, loads of room and plenty of room in the garden (for our doggos!) I would've used the hot tub, but I'd just had an operation a few days before which ruled it out (a reason to definitely return soon!) Plus highlight if the stay was watching a hovering Kestrel looking for its tea! Thank you again, would highly recommend.
