"The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of town, close to shops, dining and local attractions. What makes this hotel stand above the rest is the service you receive from every member of the hotel staff. They definitely go above and beyond. In addition, the hotel is beautiful. It once was a private residence and was recently renovated. However they were able to keep the integrity, beauty and charm of the original residence with modern amenities. It felt like we were transported back in time. We have been in many hotels during our travels, this hotel by far will be one of the most memorable. I would definitely highly recommend staying at 1877."

"The hotel and staff were beyond amazing. They were genuinely friendly and helpful immediately to any of my needs. The grounds, too, were very interesting. I spent 3.5 hours walking trails in the forest. It was delightful and relaxing. I want to come again and have my friends visit as well."

"This was a great hotel. Nice clean room that was perfect for what we needed. Walking distance to the canal, gondola tours, shopping centre and restaurants. The staff was really helpful. We opted for private parking which was below the nearby mall - the hotel provides a swipe card and directions. A short walk back to the hotel, but felt very safe about leaving the rental car there. "

"Upon check-in we were greeted by Christiana-she was exceptional and hopefully a valued employee! Top notch. She reviewed everything and shared a few things going on in the area that might be worth a visit. Upon coming and going at the hotel she asked us how our day was and made sure we were always all set. We had dinner at the restaurant-our waitress was amazing. Friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. We didn’t finish our wine & cheese/olives/bread board so she offered to pack it up so we could take back to our room. Lovely experience and the food was spectacular. My husband got the beef and mushrooms and I got the salmon-both our dishes were wonderful. Lovely little village-worth a stay as it’s a short drive to Porto without all the hustle and bustle of a city. "
